geriob1Joke of the Day.....
At 85 years of age, Wally married Anne, a lovely 25 year old. Since her
new husband is so old, Anne decides that after their wedding she and Wally should have separate bedrooms, because she is concerned that her
new but aged husband may overexert himself if they spend the entire night together.>
After the wedding festivities, Anne prepares herself for bed and the expected 'knock' on the door. Sure enough, the knock comes, the door opens and there is Wally, her 85 year old groom, ready for action. They unite as one.
All goes well, Wally takes leave of his bride, and she prepares to go to sleep. After a few minutes, Anne hears another knock on her bedroom door, and it's Wally. Again, he is ready for more 'action.' Somewhat suprised, Anne consents for more coupling. When the newlyweds are done, Wally kisses his bride, bids her a fond goodnight and leaves.
She is set to go to sleep again, but aha you guessed it..... Wally is back again, rapping on the door, and is as fresh as a 25-year-old, ready for more 'action.' And, once again, they enjoy each other.
But as Wally gets set to leave again, his young bride says to him, 'I am yhoroughly impressed that at your age you can perform so well and so often. I have been with guys less than a third of your age who were only good once. You are truly a great lover, Wally.'
Wally, somewhat embarrassed, turns to Anne and says:>
'You mean I was here already?
The moral of the story: Don't be afraid of getting old, senior moments have advantages -

How to Dance in the Rain
It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80s arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am. I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would to able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound.
While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry.
The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. I inquired as to her health.
He told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease.
As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late.
He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years .
I was surprised, and asked him, 'And you still go every morning, even though she doesn't know who you are?'
He smiled as he patted my hand and said,
'She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is.'
I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arm, and thought, 'That is the kind of love I want in my life.'
True love is neither
physical, nor romantic.
True love is an acceptance of all that is,
has been, will be, and will not be.
With all the jokes and fun that are in e-mails, sometimes there is one that comes along that has an important message. This one I thought I could share with you.
The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
they just make the best of everything they have.
'Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain! -

paul giglioI was going to post this yesterday but it seemed better to wait, so another blog observation.
When I first looked for this site/blog, I saw other blogs where people posted questions and comments and did not get answers, sometimes for days and thats cool, you'll see almost anything on a blog. The point is you don't have to expect a response every time you post or, you don't have to stay on a certain subject, you just bounce around. People get pulled away for different reasons but its all good. If the majority don't want to go down a certain path it will disapear in time, you have to let it evolve. This particular blog, Our Blog if I may, is used for many different things, memories, photo's, sharing, laughing, crying, praying, chatting, arguing and making up, I like it, leave it alone, and shut up, LOL. Thanks for letting me be part of it.
Oh, did I mention, medical alerts, weather reports, school closings, TV listings, recipes, dinner updates etc; etc; LMAO -
paul giglioI'm good Terry, how are you and Mia? -
paul giglioOK, now I HAVE to get something done, later
