Good Morning All-

I took the day off! I need a mental health day!

Patsy--I was at the fair and saw so many people I haven't seen in years it was impossible for me to look around. I think it was probably the first time in my life I was tired of talking. Plus, you would have never recognized me, my hair is now brown. SO, I kind of blended with everyone instead of standing out with my hair shinning like a new copper penny!

George, who was 70-years-old, went for his annual physical. All of his
test results came back normal. Dr. Smith said, "George, everything looks great
physically. How are you doing mentally and emotionally? Are you at peace with yourself, and do you have a good relationship with God?"

George replied, "God and me are real tight. He knows I have poor eyesight, so he's fixed it so that when I get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, POOF the light goes on when I pee, and then POOF the light goes off when I'm done."

"Wow," commented Dr. Smith, "That's incredible!"

A little later in the day, Dr. Smith called George's wife.

"Thelma," he said, "George is just fine. Physically he's great, but I had to call because I'm in awe of his relationship with God. Is it true that he gets up during the night and, POOF the light goes on in the bathroom, and then POOF it goes off when he's done?

Thelma exclaimed, "That old fool! He's peeing in the refrigerator again!"

Hey Terry I am back…got back on Saturday, and had a 50th birthday party on Sunday…..I will try to get on the blog sometime later today if I can. Tank you for the concern, you’re the best. Diving was spectacular. Saw soo many things…dove the wreck, and went into the ship…that was a bit scary, but great.

Tell Suzie and the gang I am OK….I spoke to Anthony online late last night as I was checking my emails .

Just Stay
A nurse took the tired, anxious serviceman to the bedside.
'Your son is here,' she said to the old man.


She had to repeat the words several times before the patient's eyes opened.


Heavily sedated because of the pain of his heart attack,

he dimly saw the young uniformed Soldier standing outside

the oxygen tent.

He reached out his hand.

The Soldier wrapped his toughened fingers around the old man's

limp ones, squeezing a message

of love and encouragement.


The nurse brought a chair

so that the Soldier could sit

beside the bed.

All through the night the

young Soldier sat there

in the poorly lighted ward,

holding the old man's hand

and offering

him words of love and strength

Occasionally, the nurse

suggested that the Soldier

move away and rest awhile.

He refused.

Whenever the nurse came

into the ward,

the Soldier was oblivious of her

and of the night noises

of the hospital -

the clanking of the oxygen tank,

the laughter of the night staff members exchanging greetings,

the cries and moans

of the other patients.


Now and then she heard him say a few gentle words. The dying man said nothing, only held tightly to his son all through the night.


Along towards dawn, the old man died. The Soldier released the now lifeless hand he had been holding and went to tell the nurse. While she did what she had to do, he waited.


Finally, she returned.

She started to offer words

of sympathy,

but the Soldier interrupted her.


'Who was that man?'

he asked.
The nurse was startled,

'He was your father,'

she answered.

'No, he wasn't,' the Soldier replied.

'I never saw him before in my life.'


'Then why didn't you say something when I took you to him?'

'I knew right away there had been a mistake,
but I also knew he needed his son, and his
son just wasn't here.
When I realized that he was too sick to tell
whether or not I was his son,
knowing how much he needed me, I stayed.'


The next time someone needs you ... just be there. Stay.

Hello everyone!!! Hope you all had a great weekend, I have a lot of catching up to do, enjoyed the photos, I know the street festival was fun and all that good food!!! Very damp and dreary here today; drove in the rain this morning. Son and hubby are home sick with appears to a cold, hope I don't catch it!!!
