Agreed, but it is funny that the guy hates stroller moms, yet has a classified post looking for nanny work. Nevertheless, if ya'll want to beat a dead horse, I can't stop you.
Come to think of it, if you can't beat them, join them. I don't have kids so I'm getting one of these instead:
-
But you don't have cats either, Mama!
-
I'm going to kidnap one of the friendly Bergen strays. I'm totally serious here. I really want take a cat on a stroller. It would be so cute! and totally insane. Maybe Caseopele will lend me mumps and grumps?
Too damn cute: -
Yeah? Well, I'm going to walk my cat to Prospect Park and let him off of the leash.

Carmen! Very funny and old school. You never hear anyone use the phrase "going places" anymore. It's time to bring it back.
I do what I can. I'm trying to bring back the term "ace" as well (that's so ace) but apparently it's just me. Whatever.
OMG! I love calling people Ace!
Highway to the danger zone..... 8)
Ace or aces is a great word. I like to say "Aces!" while giving both thumbs up. It makes people laugh - but usually at me rather than with me.
Oh, and THANKS a heap, Mamacita. That song is going to be in my head all day. :P -

Yes he is. I found this picture of him and it kind of proves that he is a troll.

I've always wanted to name my cat Ace. Maybe next time. -

I'll never trust anyone again. -
op i would of let out a litany of curses at that lady for telling me what not to say. and teach her kids all the nice words they'll need to know later on in life.
-
It like the phishing scams you get in emails where supposedly PayPal needs to verify your password and information. I never thought anyone would fall for that stuff. Now I realize some do
-
You know who the real trouble makers are? Dog owners. I mean, these people have no sense of community or spacial awareness. They all let their rats crap all over the place and never pick up for them. They make this neighborhood bad.
Not to mention they seem to encourage their dogs to bark all the time, or yip all the time. It's a nuisance. They should be banned from the neighborhood.
Oh yeah, when I'm walking down the street I have to watch out where their dog is going? I mean, show some control over your freaking pet.
I mean, why are they all here? And those that own big dogs are all mean-spirited for keeping them in cramped spaces and not getting them outside enough...
/generalizations off/ -
I'm waiting for the day that gawker sends someone into the bedstuy forum to post "I hate blacks and think we should price them out of the neighborhood" and watch the resulting shitstorm.

But of course! Considering that, I'd like to express my indifference toward strollers, SUVs, and those noisy Food Co-op carts. We could have 100 or 0 of these vehicles on one block at the same time and I would not notice the difference. -
From Curbed:
"Yes, the Park Slope stroller rant is a well-worn topic, but they can be compelling when presented properly. This is the latest example of the genre, posted on the Park Slope Forum on Brooklynian:"
Seriously, that was "presented properly?" Maybe if you work for Curbed....
To me, it sounded painfully repetitive. -
The only question I have is why do parents walk NEXT to their stroller rather than behind it? What's that about? It's almost like they're holding it away from them like a dirty diaper.
-
Because they're talking to their kid OR b/c they just wiped their kid's nose OR because they're trying to divert a meltdown OR they're trying to see if that pigeon did in fact poop on their kid's head OR because their kid is trying to fling its toy/cup/pants/hat/sock out of the stroller OR because they can't hear what their kid is saying OR because they want to make sure they didn't spill their coffee on their kid after hitting a bump....
I know it appears that everyone (including me) with a stroller and/or kid is out to offend and annoy those of you who get to drink their coffee in peace, stay up past 10pm and go an entire day without getting food thrown on them, but let me say that we're trying. We apologize when we pass you on the sidewalk and our child crosses into your path, we apologize when you pass us on the sidewalk because we're not going the requisite NY foot speed, we apologize when our child walks past your table at lunch and says hi at a decibel level akin to a fighter plane. We do try to stay out of your way and not infringe on your life. I'm sure not every parent all the time does these things, and I'm sure I'm guilty of not being considerate 100% of the time, but for the most part, we didn't just emerge from the bowels of hell for the sole purpose of annoying you. We're too tired. -

Who is this "we" you speak of? I find you to be a refreshing minority. So yay you.
And I agree that they aren't _trying_ to be annoying.
For my part, I will continue to stay the hell out of strollerville as much as possible, and the problem is averted. -

I've been trying to stay out of this one, and I appreciate your sincerity, but I've got to say that no one in Park Slope has ever apologized to me in any of those situations. Ever. -
No matter how bad 4th Ave. is, it's not Paris (in many senses, but seriously, the poop there is the worst.)
And I LOVE Paris. -

Oh boo hoo hoo Carnivore.

You sound like a cry baby. Did some 3 year old hurt your feelings by walking too slowly on the sidewalk? Maybe no one apologized to you because they had nothing to apologize for. Its funny that people who criticize parents for thinking they own the sidewalks have the same exact views ehmselves. I have news for you - we ALL have to share the sidewalks. Get over it and move on. -

Speaking as a moderator, I'll tell you that you're breaking the rules with the personal attacks and you'd better cool it.

Speaking as a poster, I'll tell you that you have a reading comprehension problem. I never said that I expected an apology or that my feelings were hurt, and I wasn't criticizing anyone. The poster I quoted said that parents apologize in those situations, and I said that had never happened to me, which is a fact. Get the chip off your shoulder. -
The obvious solution to this problem is for people to start pushing their kids around in shopping carts like I used to do. Now I can just hear someone saying, "But Drano, your excellency, however shall I procure such a thing?" Well, I'll tell you what to do: Keep a sharp eye out! Within a day or two, you will probably notice a shopping cart in some odd place around the neighborhood. More often than not, the cart will be loaded with an assortment of items - cans and the like are popular, but random junk such as blankets and clothing are occasionally seen. Anyway, dump all that crap out all over the street, you won't need it. What the hell, set it on fire if you have the time. Assuming all has gone well, after a quick hose down you now have a free, durable, all terrain non-stroller on your hands. No need to thank me, your anticipated happiness is what keeps me going.

With current polling at 63% of people saying "no" or "don't care" about strollers why does this go on?
Is this a society-wide trend in poll-bucking, a la the HMS H. Clinton which continues to take on water fast?
Howdy, Stranger!
