I have been reading this for weeks, When I first went on I was reading this 9 hours , yes you read right 9 hours straight . My husband woke up and told me I'm crazy. I didn't get the hint unitl I heard all the birds singing outside the window. It was morning. I have about a foot high of newspapers never read. I am on the phone alot now communicating to friends and mom-n-law Nina about the great things I have been reading and I'm sharing this with them because the posts are thier memories also. When my husband gets annoyed I blame it all on his brother Dan Lovaglio. He turned me on to this amazing space. Thank-u Dan. So after all these weeks I decide to jump in (my daughter helps me ) and then I get lost. Two days trying to join you guys, I could not find my way in, pulling my hair out. Now my husband is really worried because I asked for a cocktail and after all this I finally am able to post and no one's here. Oh well who said life is easy but it sure is sweet here on this site with my fellow park slope/south brooklyn neighbors.

I forgot.....around christmas time I saw Annie Schiralli in Fiacco's pork store. She never changes....flower in her hair and all!!!! Love ya Doll!!!!!!!!

Do you remember going to some dance club in Brooklyn and seeing Mitch Rider and the Detroit Wheels doing "Devil With a Blue Dress" ?

I have remembrance of Michael Fox passing and that it was post-Vietnam related. It is just so long back and I was too uncertain of details to say anything. I remember sitting in a bar with Michael (19th Street and 6th Avenue) and hearing his stories about Saigon (not about fighting but other things having to do with daily life). Several of the guys I spent a lot of time with as a kid have also passed on. Johnny Conroy was quite ill for some time before he died. Nevertheless, he kept coming to Coney Island and the last memory I have of Johnny was swimming with him out far at Coney Island and when we came back in, his arm was bleeding (his skin at that point was very taut and thin and easily broken).

Hoping to hear from some of the other people I grew up with. Jerome Howard was not only a constant companion but taught me a lot about life. He was on his own a lot and taught me a good bit about self-reliance and confidence. I think I needed that and he was a great teacher (he didn't know that). Even with his help at an early age (11/ 12), teenage years were tough. Man, if you saw the movie Little Miss Sunshine and remember the dialogue between her brother (Paul Dano) and his uncle (Steve Carell) near the end......talking about Marcel Proust and suffering and how the suffering years were the best and teenage years were the best suffering time.....he was spot on with that !

So, friends.....if you are out there.....it would be good to hear from you.
