What's Going in the Former Tailor Shop...

DUB isn't moving over. I learned that he tried to make the money work, but couldn't.
I then heard it may become a T-mobile store. -

Jeez.....T-Mo right next to All Page. Lovely.

Truthfully, I never even tried that tailor place. I’ve always been quite happy with that Jewish shoe repair guy on Windsor Place right off 9th ave. He does a good job for reasonable prices. But is this other tailor place good?
-
A shoe repair guy does your tailoring?
Sorry to hear Dub won't be expanding.
Yeah, as if we need more cell phone stores. -
What do people want to see in WT?
-
That space isn't big enough for much. Too bad it was carved up in the first place.
-
It would be big enough for one of those salad places :-)
-
"Egg salad? Tuna salad? They got those at Terrace Bagels. What's the matter with that? What is it with you yuppies and salad?"
-
No, not that type of salad......the salad where you say "give me the sundried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, throw in some croutons, grilled chicken, blue cheese crumbles and balsamic vinagrette".
If that makes me a "yuppie", so be it. -
Yeah, I'd say that's pretty much the definition of a yuppie...

Flexichick.....gentrifying Windsor Terrace since 1997
-
Maybe they could get a little mini Western Union to move in.

He sure does. Not that I need tailoring all that often, but when I do I always go to Roman’s Shoe Repair and I'm always happy with the job he does. Great guy, and he’s been there as far back as I can remember… You should check out his store on Windsor Place, technically between 9th & 10th ave, but really right by the corner of 9th. -

Well I personally would like to see a sporting good store, a video store, a printing center, a comic book/toy/baseball card store…. But these days, pretty much nothing new opens in Windsor Terrace expect restaurants and real estates. -
Here's an article on the guy I go to for tailoring

I love Roman's. However, don't EVER lose your ticket when doing shoe repair. He puts every pair of shoes in a black plastic bag and has no sense of order, so if you lose the ticket, he has to open a ton of bags before he finds your shoes -
Thats why Cinderella stopped going there.

badum ch
thanks for the tip about Roman's though. I'm going to take my brand new bonobos there this weekend.
(if you don't know, just assume that "bonobos" is yuppie-ese for pants.) -
he dyed shoes for me once. good job, not too inexpensive.
his name isn't roman, btw, that's the name of the place when he bought it. i think he name is schmeul (and i'm not kidding) -
Damn. "Authorized T-Mobile Dealer" sign is up in the window today.
-
so that's right next to the verizon store? swell.

Yep. PPW...your one stop shop for cell phone needs. Sigh. -
Yuck I was hoping for more food
-
I tried the tailor shop (the one that moved). The replaced a zipper on my winter jacket and did a great job. They aren't cheap though, I think with the zipper it cost me $40.
Roman's shoe place is great, the guy does a good job fixing my shoes, and he is very decently priced. -
Just confirming - the taylor shop is in fact converting to TMobile... that's too bad...

You don't think 9th ave has more than enough already?

not by a long shot! -
would you honestly like to see the whole avenue become nothing but restaurants and real estates?
-
restaurants are cool. I have to eat every day ...at least a few times. I only need one cell phone.
I would love a little clothing boutique or some sort of beauty place (cosmetics, soaps, etc.) -
a hardware store. a real hardware store. that's what we need..
