Ugh.
Potter I have nothing useful to add but just wanted to let you know I feel for you...You are well aware of my recent heating problem! Good luck and go after them with everything you can find.
This is totally off topic, but where is your studio? I hope you don't mind me asking, but I saw your stuff online and i love it. Once I'm mobile again I like to come do some shopping/buying. You can PM me if you don't want to say on a thread where you happen to be discussing a (valid) problem with the LL/ building management. -
littlegal, thank you.
my studio is in sunset park, that's all i'll say. i'd love you to come by when you're more mobile. (and remember that fellow brooklynians get 10% off!)
thanks for your kind wishes -

Just make sure you - dress. warm.
And I can attest to Pottter's stuff. It's great. I love my bowls and am now using them every day. -
thanks voodoo... where are your kittehs?
-
They're here. Just hibernating. Just thought I'd offer up some lucky dog until I find a better avatar......
-
<--- you'll never find a better avatar.
-
that is true

That is non-avatar avatar. I likedid that dog with the weird facial expression.
Or try this.....
Or this.....
-
Ookay - kittehs are back till I come up with something better. Oscar? Miss you buddy. Here boy.

I could use this:
-
that is one of the cutest things i have ever seen
-
I love him. Keees him for me
-
I will gladly send him over to sit on your feet while you work. However, in order to keep him there, you will need to bribe him with an endless supply of cheetos.

does he like pussy cats? (not to eat) -
were i not dieting, i could be bribed with cheetos. but only if they were the crunchy fried ones
-
Actually, he does. They, however, don't usually like him. He's a bit..Lenny with them. He was raised with two cats and will still try to sit on the back of the sofa.
-
Lenny?
My cats like dogs - as long as they are not the yappy, barky type -
Flexichick wrote: Lenny?
Yep. He wants to hold them and kiss them and name them George.

ah, I see. cute. -
Kittys don't like being held down and kissed. They don't usually like their heads in Oscar's mouth, either.

brooklynpotter wrote: i know commercial buildings have laws re:heat.. different than residential. but i can't for the life of me find them online.
its gotta be somewhere on nyc.gov but i didnt get lucky and find it right off.
anyone know where to look?
i did try though...
suggest you check your lease.
just as a guess ?
id wager you have to provide your own heat if you wish to use the facility
outside whats is considered standard business hours.
the LL is not obligated to heat an entire commercial building just in case 1 person decides to come at "off hour".
please do post a link when you find the exact law. id love to read up on it. -
garfunky, i've search nyc.gov more times than i can count.
re: my lease, it's a sublease. see above
re: LL. i just want to know what the laws are. i have heard from 311--and this was all i could get from them--was that they had to keep it at 68 during business hours. this does not happen, not by a longshot.
i would assume that they set the heat to come on in some fashion over the weekend merely so the pipes don't freeze.
this is all i know. -
potter, check the link I posted earlier in the thread - I think that is the relevant law from the department of buildings.
-
if thats where you got the info from then call 311 for the 9-5 issues.
as for nights and weekends youre on your own i think.
i actually searched around a bit for you and was surprised i couldnt track it down. seriously, please post up a link when you find it.. -
What's up with everyone conducting independent research for Potter? First me, now Garfunky? Pretty soon you'll have us in the basement doin' your laundry.

Garfunky, I dug a lot too and couldn't find a damn thing.
