Where to sled

Okay, I realize more than a few of you will refuse to respond to this, not wanting to reveal your secret sledding spots in the park. And I respect that. To the rest of you, where is the best sledding spot in the park? Also, aside from Target, where can one go to purchase a sled?

  • Tarzian's has them, I think.
  • I saw someone purchasing one at save on fifth about 45 minutes ago. It was a crappy plastic one and was around $15 i think.
  • Sweet. Thanks. I look forward to seeing everyone that's hung-over from the various Festivus parties sledding at the park this weekend.
  • of course I've been waiting for sledding weather for 2.5 years and finally the weekend comes...and I'm going to visit family in texas (also for the first time in over 3 years.) Stupid global warming.
  • Those rollup sleds are the best -- thickish plastic, slick, rolls up like a yoga mat. Plastic kiddie sleds work best if you're 45 lbs . . .

(I got mine at a hardware store.)

The two hills leading to the main meadow off GAP are the usual spots but I'm sure there's more dastardly paths in there somewhere.
  • Try Models. I like Snow Tubes myself.
  • The Parks department is holding some sort of hot chocolate and sledding event in Prospect Park (near PPW/9th, Tennis courts). Perhaps they're renting sleds?
