Might these be on your rear? Pimples that is, not the wrinkles.

It's refreshing to see that in 2009 we can still count on your "witticisms" -
I'm more concerned that he's hanging out in the Chicklynian board. But anyway, good ol' rubbing alcohol. Yeah, I know, I know. But it dries those bastards out quickly. For me anyway.

you think only mod reads this dribble?

how do you get rid of your pimples, whynot? -
popping them works well (extra points when you hit the mirror...)
Lancing them works when they don't come to a head by themselves. -
I feel your pain. I'm so past puberty!
This stuff: Ling Drying Lotion

Tad pricey but lasts forever. It's the big guns.
This looks like a good alternative:

I've always heard good things about the badescu stuff...
I've never heard of the Ling stuff - it's both a spot treatment and a concealer? you buy both together? -

have you tried the old school method of rubbing the hell out of it with an astringent soaked cotton ball? it definitely will make it popable almost instantly or will dry it out pretty fast. if you pop it just right you won't get a mark. no fingernails. also holding steaming hot water cloth over it will help you pop it easier. -
I'm a big popper. I even have one of those tools. Problem is I dig and dig and leave a mark.
I've done the cloth thing with hot water. Then I try to leave it overnight -
Well I have a tendancy to get them as well but if I am adamant about cleansing I don't get them. I use those wet microdermabrasion towels and really scrub the hell out of my skin. Really helps. Then on other days I use a buf puf face scrubber with plain old noxema. 2 times a day. Every day.

I'm sorry I'm an asshole so I wents and did some academic type research and found the following:

I think the Brooklyn Zoo is fresh out of lemurs. They got mere cats though and they stand up all the time so maybe they would work. To bad they eat their young. -
does the zoo give the lemurs porno mags to aid in the collection of their semen?
...feel free create clever suitable titles... -
I've only used the white Ling stuff. Since it's not on their own website anymore, they may not make it still.
I'd go with the Badescu. No comment on the lemurs. -
I second Mario Badescu. I still have their products in rotation even though I no longer go there for facials.
I also have Duac topical gel (Rx only) for the crazy ones that won't go away. -
I love Badescu's drying cream. Another thing I use is tinted zinc cream which is tan colored so it conceals as it treats. I use Badescu at night and the zinc in the morning. If it's really red, after the zinc, I put a small touch of green concealor to balance the red (not too much or you'll have green spots) and a concealor on top of that. Yup, alot of work to look almost 40 and pimple less!

toothpaste (not the gel kind, the real white cheapo paste kind.) Dries that shit right up.
-
Wash face each night & day, using gentle soap (Dove 4 senitive skin),
rinse with, Witch Hazel, & use Neosporin over entire face. U can puncture a tiny hole in the top of each pimple (don't squeeze).
Best of skin to you. -
I have a friend who (I swear!) used his own pee for while. Didn't work so good, and he smelled like pee.
-
I know you said tea tree oil dried you out, but you might want to try Burt's Bee's Herbal Blemish Stick. The tea tree is balanced out with moisturizing stuff like witch hazel and calendula. Works well for me, and when I get a pimple its stin-jay. This is the only thing that has gotten them to go away in less than a week.
PS--I keep forgetting to tell you! The magic eraser totally works on deodorant marks!! -
Oh, Flexi, I should ask--
Are the pimples the lumpy kind, or just regular red bumps? If you are getting anything where the gland is producing too much sebum (oil), you could have cystic acne, not just a clogged pore or two. I had cystic acne about 6-7 years ago, and it took me forever to figure out why none of the topical stuff got rid of them. I only ask because you said they were big
Its unlikely though. It usually hits people in their late teens/early 20s. -

thanks, Fancy, but all of the Dove bars dry my face out and leave my face feeling like I have a film all over it

just regular red bumps. I know what cystic acne looks like and am very thankful I don't have it. I just generally have one or two pimples at a time (usually on my chin)

I think i'll do the Badescu stuff since 3 of you like it and I've been hearing about it forever. Their website says that Fligh 001 on 5th Ave carries their products. I'll call them tomorrow and see if I can pick some up.
i also hear great things about the Kiehls blue face wash stuff. -
Toothpaste works for me.
-
I'm dealing with the same thing right now -- zits around my chin, for some reason. To get rid of them in 2-3 days I alternate drying them out with a salicylic face wipe (I use Neutrogena Acne face pads, come in a round jar) and dabbing on salicylic acid gel (any drugstore acne section has them) with putting on the anti-bacterial Metrogel, a prescription I got from my dermatologist which has cut way back on the zits appearing.
-
Are you on the phone a lot? Is that where they tend to appear? I find that using the blotting paper throughout the day cuts down on the oil that seems to collect in that "phone area."
-
Hey Flexi, check this out, maybe ask for a sample to try at home.
KIEHL'S Rare Earth Face Mask: clay masque for spot application. I used it on my chin and nose and it really helped and shrinked (sp?) my pores too. It has a little bit of sulfer in it and it's gently astringent. -
Yes, am on the phone a lot.
I'm going to go to Kiehl's next time I am near one and see what happens.
I looked online for Badescu on Flight001 and they didn't seem to have it, so I may just order online
