I went ballistic on her devil scunt.
while this quote is totally off thread, i want to address it.
people seem to think that smokers have no manners; perhaps some don't. when i was a smoker, i did.
i had this happen to me ad nauseum and i have to tell you that it sucks. yes, i can smoke outdoors, but if i am offending you or your breathing i'd gladly have moved. i can't tell you how many times people came up to me and told me i truined their afternoon/meal/whatever. first of all, move. second of all, if you can't move, ask nicely and i'd gladly have stomped it out. because i have manners.
isn't this really what all of this shit is about?
The point is I was there first and there were dozens of empty benches yet she chose to come and sit on the same bench as me right next to me. This is totally on thread as it is the exact same type of asshole Obamanut is talking about. -
Obamanut.. Re-read what I wrote. Pretty clear what I said... I wouldn't give the cop a hard time OR "jONATHON q. bROWNSTONE" IF I was breaking the law.... as indeed you were.

One of my favorite PS stories:
At the corner of 8th ave and 3rd st, stands a well-dressed woman with an unleashed dog, waiting to cross.
Walking towards her, another well-dressed woman says rather loudly, "That dog should be leashed!"
Well-dressed woman with unleashed dog replies, "YOU should be leashed!"
No four-letter words, but nasty nonetheless. I loved it. -

Not to mention, I don't open my mouth to those fools either. Not unless their dog becomes a direct interference with my shopping.
I'll map it out for you....
You started one thread complaianing that people bring dogs into stores and even said "First off, what they're doing is illegal--under the NYC health code, the only animals allowed in establishments serving food are service animals--and second, it's disrespectful to the business owners and other patrons."
You then started a second thread ranting that someone complained about your dog being off leash and said "Unless I'm somehow infringing upon your civil liberties and depriving you of your ability to enjoy the park, then whether I'm breaking the law is none of your business."
Not hard now was it? -

Apparently a bit too hard for you, since you still want a piece of me.
I've yet to stop what I'm doing and go out of my way to approach someone from across a supermarket to 'angrily confront' them about what they're doing (I'm usually too busy going about my own business to do anything but give a brief notice). If I did, I would fully expect that person to come right back at me the same way I came at them, since (1) I'm not a cop; (2) I'm not employed at the store; and (3) At that moment, their dog was not enough for an issue for me to get confrontational about it. Not to mention, the typical 8 x 15 floor space of a Park Slope store is just a tad more restrictive than oh, say, an EMPTY PROSPECT PARK.
It seems to be only those with so much time and energy on their hands that they're cruising for confrontation, who want to get into a shouting match with someone else in a store/park/wherever over something relatively stupid on both sides. There seems to be quite a few individuals with too much time and confrontational energy on their hands in this neighborhood--individuals who might spend their time doing things like, let's say, dredge up old threads in a dyslexic attempt to obfuscate what someone is saying and get a few cheap laughs from the peanut gallery. -

Great call, "pastoralia"; since you're "scottb2k"'s flunky, it would follow that you also share his belief that there's no difference between a dog in a 7th Avenue store and a dog in Prospect Park. You should fit nicely in this neighborhood. -

Some of us aren't interested in maintaining a careful online personality or 'impressing' people on an internet message board. Stop projecting your daily routine onto me. You tried to say I contradicted myself in two different threads, and I told you that you were wrong. I know what my own posts say, I don't need you to interpret them for me. "Semper Fi," brah.

Impress people? You're the one who started the thread by saying the guy in the park the other night was lucky you didn't beat him up...

That doesn't even make sense. You tried to say I contradicted myself in two different threads, and I told you that you were wrong.
You did contradict yourself...it's ok...no one thinks any less of you. Don't worry everyone still thinks you're a very dangerous person...we're all very afraid of you. In fact, could you wear a shirt that says "I'm Obamanut" so that when we walk the streets of park Slope we can all know who we shouldn't f with?
You sure about that?
I know what my own posts say, I don't need you to interpret them for me."Semper Fi," brah.
The fact that you would "LOL" at someone saying Semper Fi says more about you then any nonsensical ramblings about made up encounters in the middle of prospect park every will...

Let me guess....you'll respond by saying something like "You wouldn't be talking like this to me if we met face to face!"
Hope this helps... -

I'm not 'LOL'ing at your "Semper Fi," I'm laughing at the fact that you felt the need to paste it on your profile here, along with your 'Brooklyn Industries t-shirt' avatar, because you actually care what online people think and are trying to impress them (sound familiar?).

Anytime I see the 'scathing point-for-point internet post rebuttal' (lol) I know I'm dealing with a real pro, so I'm going to forego rolling around in the mud with you any longer. I imagine that your "Second Life" girlfriend and online gaming friends are getting antsy. You're still welcome to comment on my next thread though.

I had no idea that was a brooklyn industries t-shirt...the fact that you know that speaks more about you then it does me. The reasons my signature is Semper Fi are beyond any level of comprehension you possess.
And I don't have a second life girlfriend...are you offering?
And I can't wait to hear all about all the people you almost beat up this weekend... -
Am I the only one who wants to see people wearing "I'm Obamanut" t-shirts now?

"PC Police" ? I don't get the PC part of this. You weren't confronted from someone trying to politically correct you, they were legally correcting you. I'd agree that there's a lot of mouthy Joes in the Slope, but sorry, Obamanut, you seem to be the asshole in this instance.

Right--apparently I should have known that everyone in this neighborhood has carte blanche to aggressively confront other citizens over public violations, regardless of whether it affects them in any way. Silly me, I thought that role was typically limited to police officers.
I will remember that the next time some "mouthy joe" travels 150ft across a Prospect Park field to chastise me about my dog, and, recalling your advice, I will thank them for being such a good citizen.
If you'll excuse me now, I have some free time on my hands, so I'm going to go inspect all of the parked cars on my block for expired inspection and registration stickers, and leave a nice, nasty, note under the wiper of any "asshole" who does. Just doing my part!
Good day, fellow Park Sloper!

I saw a strollerless, leashless toddler taking a dump while smoking a cigarette in the park this AM. I didn't know where to start. :?

=D> My thoughts exactly.
Another thing that no one has called out Obamanutter on is the fact that he rants here about going drill sergeant on the person who confronted him, but the toughest thing he ever does is post a rant on this board.

This brings up an interesting point.
We have all committed at least minor infractions of the law; Jay walked, moved from car to car on the subway, let our dog off-leash, smoked a joint, exceeded the speed limit, lots of stuff. Just because a cop does not catch you does not make it ok. If you get a dirty look you should just be happy you did not get a ticket.
Sunday morning I watched a car slide on the ice and smash into a parked scooter. Should I have kept walking, it was not my bike, not my business, my civil rights were not violated? No, I stopped the diver and stayed with the crushed scooter till she left a note.
I also made a note of the license plate number of the car in case it was a bogus note.
It turns out the driver's note was bogus and this has turned into a hit and run. I bet the driver is pissed at me for not minding my own business.
I am not saying that letting you dog off its leach is the same as hit and run. I am saying that you should take responsibility for you own actions. Or at least not freak out when someone calls you on it. -

Sorry, can't talk now. Just finished my registration and inspection sticker check (left the offenders a nice dirty note)--now I'm off to catch jaywalkers on 7th Ave, as well as chasing off a few double parkers. Gotta run!

and, I have never ever done any of those things you mentioned! jaywalked? Peesha! -

I for one think that Brooklyn Industries should start selling them. I don't usually shop there, but I'd drop a couple bucks for that.
