Y tu, LA Taqueria?

One of my first trips to a restaurant in PS was to Santa Fe over 11 years ago. Blech. I'm surprised I didn't haul my ass outta here.

Tried it 2x since then and wasn't impressed either.

La Taq, on the other hand, has great nachos and horchata. And friendly staff. And good prices.

In landlords' defense, you should realize that there are no morals involved when it comes to commercial real estate. There's a reason why no rent protection is provided to commercial entities.

As for the stupidity part, I have yet to see or hear of any signs of the current economic woes in this neighborhood. Park Slope seems to stay pretty well isolated from the economic problems that affect regular working people. I have little doubt that Tacqueria's landlord will be able to find a higher-paying tenant in no time (although perhaps not as high as he or she wants).

I disagree. I know several local people who have lost their jobs or are very close to doing so. Many others who have scaled back purchases (large and small) until things get better. We are not isolated at all. Many of us are "regular working people"

Yep to Flexi. I also know a few shop owners on Smith and Court that have closed their businesses. It's happening all over, right before our eyes. I also have direct exposure to private equity fund portfolio companies who are going belly up one after another. These are scary times, not only for small local business owners but big business owners and their owners as well.

Either you do not live in Park Slope or YOU alone are isolated in your own private bubble.

Don't you read other threads? In a recent thread some Park Slope residents claimed they couldn't afford their monthly gym fees any more. Sure that sounds silly, but it's not. It's a bad, bad sign when generation x moms cut their yoga classes.
