Athena on 6th/14th

not yet, but we're game. want to go next week?
-
No menus available to take yet, but I looked at the one posted in the window. I have the worst memory ever, but I recall seeing a $13 3-course brunch, $16 with unlimited mimosas/other drinks. Dinner entrees looked around $15-24 each, lots of lamb for those of you into that. Not much for vegetarians beyond spanakopita and side dishes.
-
that $16 brunch sounds right up my alley.
-
Went there shortly after it opened. Food was okay, nothing special. Ugly and kind of cheap looking decor. They charge too much for tacky surroundings.

...we'll forgive you this once. ...but we want a lamb entree on the house. -
I was there too, with my hubby and kids and it was great!!!!
The chocolate cake it's awesome and the lamb was delicious as well as their soup, I don't know the name but it was very greek and lemony.
The decor it's nice but it needs something, like plants or something else!!!!
They are new in the hood but really the most import thing is the food and it was great. -

I do, as much as I love Magnolia and Aunt suzie.
They are great restaurants!!!
Don't you agree? -
Indeed, I think the Newbie owes us more than a lamb entree. shil

My family and I went to the new restaurant at 6th Ave and 14th Street for brunch today and the food was delicious, the owner told me about the name of the restaurant (ATHENA), is the most adorable sto ... -
I love going out to eat, it doesn't mean I owned every restaurant I go to!!!!
-
lets see if you continue to post....
lets see if you like any other restaurant....
time will tell.
P.S. We wish Athena well, but this board is mean enough to avoid the place if you keep it up. Read the rules, post in the classifieds. Say hi to Greek for us. -
Hello!!!!
Everyone
Do you know where can I go to get my digital camara fix around the neighborhood, do you think is worth fixing it or just buy a new one?
Thanks for the info.

Depends on what is wrong with it. But if it is actually broken and needs anything more than a new battery or strap, I would buy a new one.

It's broken, sometimes it doesn't turn off at all and sometimes it does, I bought new batteries (rechargeable) and it's not working 90% of the time.
It's a KODAK 5.0 and the pictures are great but it is not reliable. Sometimes it does not work at all for days even with new batteries.

Honestly you're just better off getting a new one. You can get really decent point and shoot digital cameras for under $200 even. Not worth putting a possibly comparable amount into an older camera when its just gonna break on ya again over time anyway.

Fixing the camera might cost as much as the camera did in the first place, and then it might break again. If you can, you might be better off with a new one.
Check out the panasonic lumix line. I've got a small one that is great and know several folks with various models and everyone is happy with theirs.

Buy a new one. Chances are you'll be upgrading anyway considering how quickly new technology flows out to consumer or prosumer cameras these days.

I think you are right, I'm going to buy a new one, now the question is which brand it's the best for me?

Pretty subjective! A commonly popular digital camera is the Canon digital elph line. They're good cameras, straight forward user interface, pocket sized, good resolution.
Most people wouldn't need anything else than that on the consumer side.
If you want a camera you can grow with I'd suggest a start DSLR like a Digital Rebel or low end Nikon like a D50 or equivalent. The big difference is that these look like traditional cameras and you can switch the lenses.

I also have a Panasonic Lumix and it's great. There are a bunch of different ones in that line. I'd also recommend the Nikon cameras (used to have a CoolPix). Those are great too. Here's a link that may help you decide what kind of camera would be best for you:

what is wrong with you?

no one said you posted only about Athena ....only mostly.
...like I said, you are merely a shil suspect. Time will determine whether you are guilty.
Its a fair system.
P.S. I'll go away if you send me a coupon for a lamb entree -
If you're comparing Athena to Aunt Suzie's in a favorable manner, that is enough to keep me away forever. Ketchup on pasta is not Italian food.
-
You don't have to love Athena or Aunt Suzie's as much as I do!!!!
-
I wish I have one, I'll use it asap, because their lamb is delicious!!!! lol,lol,lol......

Please prove my suspicion wrong.
Stay on the board for a while, give your thoughts. (really, all you have to do is discuss babies and dogs.... and if you can relate these two TOGETHER, wow... you are clearly not a shil).
This is not an attack in any way. I'm sure you would understand the suspicion. -

Very true. -
iloveparkslope wrote: You don't have to love Athena or Aunt Suzie's as much as I do!!!!
Read above: Those of us who have been there certainly don't "love them" ...but we don't hate it either. Your place sounds promising. Advertise it... but not here.
We are giving you good advice on how to make changes. ...and so far being very nice about it. -
I don't have a dog, but I do have a hamster, can we talk about my hamster, can we talk about my hamster and my kids!!! lol,lol,lol,lol....
I love this site, I have fun just writing to you guys!!!
Hope everyone is having a great day. -

you may only talk about hamsters if you say:
I love this site, I have fun just writing to you guys!!!
Hope everyone is having a great day.
1) You let your hamster off leash in the park during non-off leash hours, and don't understand when people get mad at you about it.
2) You think your hamster is cleaner than children: thus your hamster should be able to go into stores with you.
3) You have a huge stroller for your kids and you run over peoples feet and take your kids into bars.
4) You don't pick up your hamsters poop. Or your kids for that matter. -
i need only say this: grown ups do not generally have hamsters as pets..
-
You are very funny, unfortunately I have to go, my son needs a snack, my daughter needs a nap and I'm putting my christmas stuff away.
But thanks I had a great time reading and writing.
See you soon!!!
P.S. My favorite, favorite place is Bogota bistro, the have the best Bandeja paisa!!! -
I have kids and they love their hamster!!!!

My 31-year old daughter has kept hamsters as pets continually since she was a kid.
This weekend she hopes to receive two flying squirrels from a breeder, as her last remaining hamster is elderly and not long for the world.
She is allergic to dander, and so cannot keep cats or dogs. -
Whynot, i know you love polls. Can you start one on how old we are/have been/should be when we give up on hamsters as pets?
-
nah, I'd would -however- do a poll on whether s/he is a shil ....but I think we know the results.
P.S. I'm looking for a new signature, don't make me make it "Avoid Athena on 6th and 14th in the Slope ...the owner shils." I'm looking for something upbeat instead.
P.P.S. I'd write about how my dog once caught a hampster and I did nothing to stop it, but I'd be afraid of a beatdown ...and I'd be lying; It was a mouse. -
on a somewhat related topic, holy hell, i love olive vine. now here's the kind of place that keeps you coming back constantly for not-mindblowingly-amazing greek food:
1. delivery within 5-10 minutes (OK, so i don't "go" - they come to me)
2. i was indecisive tonight about what to order. i always order the same thing and the guy there knows my voice. finally i decided but not after pondering, out loud, the possibility of ordering this chick pea thing on their menu - and lo! when my order arrived, they included the chick pea thing AND what i had actually ordered! and a little piece of cake! and hot tea!
3. do you think they put some kind of addictive substance in their lentil soup? i'm pretty sure lentils aren't addictive...by themselves. but somehow, the lentil soups at both olive vine and zaytoonns (mmm, zaytoons) are as addictive as chapstick (which i also suspect of containing heroin or some other highly addictive narcotic).
4. i guess it would be more accurate to say that lentil soup and chapstick are both as addictive as heroin.
4a.* i've never tried heroin. maybe it's not even as good as chapstick, or lentil soup for that matter.
Howdy, Stranger!
