You have to try Primo Atto. It is across from Stonehouse on 5 Ave and 3rd (I think). It is where Cocette used to be. The food is amazing. So good!! You will not be disappointed.

I know there are mixed reviews but I love A.O.C. Bistro on Garfield.

YES! I'm a big fan of JPan. Food is great and reasonably priced, and the staff is incredibly nice.

Lobo is pretty excellent. I also second the nomination for Bogoto, but that place gets crowded most nights.

Going by what applepants asked for specifically, and that's new places on 5th, i can say that any of the newer places are either not so hot(Babouche, Playa) or not interesting enough for me to go in (any of the new Italian places.) JPan's definitely an exception to me, as I do think it's very good.

Folks on here have mentioned 2-3 year old places certainly worth your time, like Bogota and Alchemy, which are probably two of the restaurants which most frequently get my money in the 'hood. There's also places like Tempo, which I discovered a few years too late.

Bussaco's not on 5th, but I can't recommend it more. Both the bar and restaurant menus are excellent (burger's just as good as the one at James), and the alcohol selection is very good, with some beers i don't see anyone else serving. After five meals there, I can pretty safely tell you that some of the negative posts the restaurant's gotten on here are completely undeserved.

Don't forget 4th avenue.....Ghenet's very good!

I'm certainly a bit biased in saying this, but you also could not pick a better business to support in this neighborhood.

what are these specials at the Fish Camp? i've always found the non-lobster roll options to be overpriced, and wound up swearing off NYC lobster rolls after having a Maine-quality one at Maine prices in Connecticut.

They have more sandwich options now, and their sandwiches are what I like. Not a big fan of expensive lobster rolls.

Brooklyn Fish Camp is a 'must' at lunch where the prices are a little more reasonable for the budget conscious. The sandwiches are ridiculous. (the Trout BLT may be the best BLT I've ever had). Lobster rolls are very good -very authentic to the Maine lobster roll, and, yes, very expensive. However the rolls FULL of lobster-meat that bad boy.
Bogota menu rocks. Yes it's always crowded, but the menu astounds. Very traditional Central American food, but there is a lot of creativity there.
Ghenet on 4th is fabulous. IMO its better than the O.G. Ghenet above Chinatown. And quite romantic as well.

What's the spice situation these days at Ghenet? We went in the first month - tasty but not as spicy as we wanted/expected. And yes, we requested Spicy.

I get the "spicy-sniffles" every time I go there. But then again, I've been known to get "spicy sniffles" from your run-of-the-mill-plain-'ol-guacamole too...

I agree, most Ethiopian in DC is fabulous and even some places in NOVA, but Ghenet will hold a candle to anything in Adams Morgan. Different experience, similar flavor!
