March Blizzard: Let us know what you are doing??

There's a good 4-6 inches on my window sill. I hear the snow is dropping at about an inch per hour. The weatherman says it feels like 6 degrees outside right now. I sincerely doubt the MTA will be running at full service, they can barely handle it when there's a little rain. There's some power outages due to the wind too.

Basically, it's nasty outside. So, who's going to work? This is an open thread to talk about whatever you experience, want to etc....

  • No School

My 8 year old twins have been waiting all their lives for this. ALL THEIR LIVES.

Wheepee Whoo, I am gonna let the kids sleep late then fill em up with pancakes. Then We are off to Prospect Park for sledding!

Also, I do not want to give away a secret but the Prospect Park Zoo is great in the snow. The animals in the Discovery Trail area are extra friendly when The Zoo is extra quiet. Oh no, I just gave away me secret.
  • i am posting photos AS promised to the brooklynian pool for ALL to oogle over and talk shit !!

    ahahahahahah
  • I just watched my A$$HAT neighbor dump all of the snow from his stoop stairs into the front courtyard thingy of my brownstone building and then run back inside his house!!!!!!! Who does that?!?!?!?!?

I seriously hate him......not sure if/how to retaliate yet.

Any and all suggestions are welcomed!

You could pour cold water on his steps every half hour or so to build up a nice sheen of ice. Not that I'm advocating that. O:)
  • I just dialed 311 and it said street cleaning is in effect for tomorrow??? Which means I need to shovel my car out before tonight's freeze.

    wtf?
  • I was SUPPOSED to have jury duty today but I am excused with full credit--whoo hoo!
  • Not going to work. Going out for a walk later. I love snow. :smurf:

I can't imagine in this mess that alt side will be in effect tomorrow......they just haven't announced it yet. Check back in the morning and I'm almost positive that they will have suspended it.

I was just about to call you ring! LOL My youngest is all bundled up and outside playing in the snow right now! The Prospect park Zoo along with most other things in the city are closed today! I can't believe they closed the schools!

As for there being alternate tomorrow, I highly doubt that is going to stay that way. My car is staying where it is!
  • There were no subway problems for me going in to Manhattan today....unfortunately, I made it to work in record time. sucks.

but child and hubby are sledding, and I'm totally jealous!!!

And, the F train was positively speedy this morning.

I saw some guy doing that around 7:30 this morning on 7th St (I think). He scooped snow from his large stoop steps into the yard next door. I was so confused and thought maybe he owned both lots, but now I'm thinking some people are just bigger jerks than I expected.

I headed to the park nice and early (for such a cold, windy day) and got to see my dog romp with all the other spunky pups. The snow was a lot deeper there--my dog would play bow to another dog and all you could see was his fluffy butt and tail wiggling above the snow.

And we got to see a guy jogging across Londmeadow in a banana suit. WTF??
  • i was thinking about going and taking some pictures, but then i realized that would mean going outside.
  • inside. soup. tivo. and 2 ironic dollars away from buying the "snuggler" blanket.
  • Loving the snow - from my office window. Slow day at work though because of it - boooring!
  • Thinking that there would be no one with the same idea, I went to Atlantic Center DMV to do register a vehicle. ....everyone that is not at work, was at DMV.

now at work, until maybe 3.

Supreme, I guessed those were from you before I even saw this post.

....have you been paying for sex again?
  • Poor mail guy is actually out there delivering. Poor mofo is freezing, I feel bad.
  • Nice relaxing day, doing some work from home. Ramen soup with carrots, cabbage and Estonian beef sausage. Mmmm haute cuisine!
  • Whaaa??? Healthy food? Come on!
  • It's not really that cold out. A little wind here and there.

I went out and did the laundry.Perfect time bcuz of the snow. It was only me and one other person in that place. No waiting. Yaaay!

I was thinking about going to take pics of the Botanical Garden but I'm worn out now. I'm starving but I'm too tired to cook. Two huge sacks of laundry.Third floor. I'm going back to bed.

    Good night.
  • To me it is, esp. if it has carrots and cabbage.
  • ramen is not healthy food!
