Try the Imani House on 5th between Warren and St. Marks. They do great work in the neighborhood teaching Math literacy AND Verbal Literacy however its a broad organization that focuses on many of the needs in the community. Their classroom is at the church on St. Felix in Fort Greene and most of the students come from Clinton Hill/Ft Green/Bed Stuy. I'm sure they could use your help!

you can volunteer at the public library branch on washington ave as a 'homework helper,' which can range anywhere from a little kid to an adult trying to get a GED or something. they're always looking for help.
