Gorilla Workers?

Hmmm, never noticed any problems. Have you tried having conversations with the staff, asking them how they're doing, etc?
I imagine it's pretty grueling to work there due to the sheer volume and general sense of entitlement that a lot of Park Slopers tend to have. Remembering that they aren't coffee-making machines goes a long way. -

Welcome to Brooklyian!

p.s.
I totally agree with you. -
Oh my god, if I hear one more person talk about entitlement on this thread I will go insane. What exactly does that mean? Me breezing in wearing my Crocs and summer scarf, fresh from tying off the daffodils, texting with a rolled up Nation under my arm? I mean, seriously, I think you forget that there are individual lives behind your neatly constructed buckets.

Because no one mentioned Southside's location and I was curious:
6th Ave and 19th Street.
Dang! So close to where I live, and I've yet to check it out. I sense a jaunt is imminent.
-
Meganlibrarian, the jaunt will be completely worth it...it's a lovely place. Wish I was closer.
-
Agreed: Southside rocks. Just don't go expecting a Starbucks-type menu... no frappucinos in sight.
-
Southside did, indeed, rock. My husband and I walked in the door, began looking at the coffee selections... and then I realized I had $3 on me. I exclaimed, "crap!", and told the woman behind the counter that we'd have to find an ATM and come back as I only had $3 on me. She replied that we seemed like honest folks and to order our drinks and just come back with the money later. (How incredible is THAT? I can't think of many places would do that for a brand-new customer!) So we did, and we did. Kickassingly awesome! 2 sets of thumbs up (actually 3 sets, including our 13-month old daughter's)!
(The coffee was great, too.) -
All of this talk just reminds me how happy I am that I don't like coffee. $5 coffees, sizes that make no sense to me (vente) and snotty attitude to boot.
I'll stick to my tea....and drink it at home 95% of the time
Howdy, Stranger!
