  • boring me: french; latin.

I would LOVE to learn German (anyone willing to tutor?), but haven't gotten around to it yet.

There are a bunch of serbo-croats on the groundfloor of my building--or so my girlfriend-who-likes-eastern-europe says, so that adds to things, as well. Otherwise, my neck of the woods seems to be almost entirely haitian patois and other caribbean dialects/languages and spanish.
  • I speak latin (I can translate the lewd graffiti in HBO's Rome)

My boyfriend is attempting to teach me a few words of russian, but so far I only know the russian word for "little tiny tote bag you squish up and carry in your purse in case you find something worth buying". And I always pronounce it wrong.

I speak Danish at home, which means able to converse with Norwegians, read Swedish, and catch annoying snippets of Icelandic, German and Dutch. My French is pretty rusty 'C'est magnifique, mais ce n'est pas la gare'. As for Latin... QVICQVID LATINE DICTVM SIT ALTVM VIDITVR.
  • Irish. (No one in Ireland uses the word Gaelic for the language.)
