(Already happened, sorry): Soda Bar Happy Hour is ON!
Are we still thinking 6:30ish to whenever?
Let's meet up in the backroom, in the corner nearest the door. Or we can try to occupy part of the lower patio.
Dailyheights will not be wearing a bread hat. However:
A DH representative will be wearing a "Where's The Beef?" pin with a picture of Clara Peller shouting into a telephone.
If all else fails, look for the tiny blonde. -DH
For reference, the tiny blonde is wearing a pink ballet sweater today. However, she might not get there until 7 or shortly thereafter. Sorry!

What do people say to meeting up at Soda on Wednesday the 20th, at 6:30 or whenever you come home from work? Soda is very kid-friendly, and we can congregate in the garden or the back room depending on weather.

It's gonna be MAD HOT! I can smell it already!
However, in the interest of civility, i'd like to impose these rules:- No strikes to the groin area
- No eye gouging
- No small joint manipulations (fingers and toes, you fucking stoners!)
- Chokes are allowed, but only those that compress the carotid and jugular arteries. Those that compress the larynx are forbidden.
- When your opponent taps out, you must release them, step away and wait for the referee

I'll be there. I actually missed the first one because I was stupid late and too scared to ask who was who. Nametags or party sign or something to keep the stragglers from feeling intimidated?

I did the same! We'll have to post what we're wearing the day of, or something. -
I'll be the one wearing the parasitic twin.

I'll be there. I'll be there early. I'll be the one wearing the impossibly cute baby. (Some may remember her from the RPS Smackdown).

Please make sure she's awake. Mr. M has been monopolizing most awake!Rose sightings recently and I am jealous.

Please, her online name is "Lockjaw." -
For people's general EmilyM-spotting purposes, I can tell you that I was once identified by a coworker, ostensibly behind my back, as "the tiny blonde." I briefly considered registering this as a domain name but I decided I didn't really want to encourage the description. That said, it's a good way to spot me in a bar.
PS. I probably don't want to know the story behind "Lockjaw," right? -
Is this meeting as a result of my suggestion to become a pro-active neighborhood?
Kudos for those who organize and attend it.
If you're lucky, I will probably make an anonymous Guest appearance, as long as I don't become the topic -
Nah, we've done it before. Just not recently, as the primary organizer was out of town for a while.

Kudos to anyone who can explain the story behind "Lockjaw" to EmilyM. I'll buy them a beer at Soda next Wednesday.

Just look for "Hell on Melba Toast" and you've spotted me. -
I, as always, will be wearing my merkin.

Jumpin' Jesus on a goddamn pogo stick! I just looked up the definition...
Thats naaa-aaasty!
I love it!
Now I gotta get me one. -
I recall that back in the day (like mid-'90s) some Brits on Usenet referred to Americans as merkins. Wikipedia lists this, too so apparently I'm not just making it up. That article also has some rather disgusting information why such a product might originally have been necessary.
Ah, digression...   -
Yeah i was reading the wiki.
My new working title for my memoirs is now officially:
"A Merkin in Brooklyn: A city, it's pubic hair and the narcissistic weirdo that brought them together"
It's like everything finally makes sense! I found my special purpose! -
DH,
I'm not sure what turnout you're looking for (Although Soda wouldn't mind the extra business), but I think you should blog this -

one question, the wiki doesn't address how they fastened the merkin to their body back then. now we have all sorts of adhesives , from elmers glue to super poligrip. what did they use back then?
-
The suggestion that the word somehow derives from a diminutive of Matilda suggests a new interpretation to "Waltzing Matilda."

I'm looking forward to seeing you all there, btw. I'll be the one eating the kasha and bacon pierogies.

Can I wear my Burka ??
-
Dear Sirs and Madams,
I attach a photograph to facilitate identification.
Please introduce yourself and I will buy you a beer. Even if I already know you. -

Isa may have distracted people from the challenge with all her talk about her merkin. -
It's a school night for me, but I'll try and make it. Not like I have to take a car home or anything.
And Mr. Admin, I was discussing new board procedures re: guests with another member yesterday, and I have some suggestions which I'm too lazy to post now. -
Changed my mind. Count me out.
Howdy, Stranger!
