are you going to Spain, Beave. I love Spain! In fact, I was planning on going last month until the broken foot postponed everything. Where in Spain?

when and where? -
Going in September. Flying into Barcelona and out of Malaga (I think that's the city). Future Wife is doing most of the planning, so I'm not sure exactly what towns we're going to be visiting. I've never been, so it'll all be new to me.
Rave: This will be my first two week vacation ever! -
Anthony- Barcelona is great...but I spend much more time in Madrid.
Rave: went to the nursery with my friend and bought a boatload of plants and flowers and my garden is looking fabulous! -
rave: IT IS SO NICE OUT! I love this weather,if it could stay exactly like this (no warmer) forever I would love it. Critter and I are dogparking as soon as work is over!
-
rant: It's not so nice out now
rave: I got to do all of my planting, plus have a late lunch barbecue and some beer outside before it started raining -
mother fucking rant: got a tick at Bear Mountain yesterday and probbaly now have some horrible disease
-
Holy cow!! How do you know!? How do we check!!? Coincidentally, ABC is talking about lyme disease right now.
-
If I had gone hiking I would have checked but I was just sitting there! Anyway, check any parts of your body that were exposed. They like ankles (I had on knee high socks for this reason) and necks and heads. Found it today on my ear. Totally freaked out and ripped it off- not what you're supposed to do. Fucker was holding on for dear life and porobably poisoned me. I bequeath my shoes to Beave, booze to Booklaw and crappy computer to Mamacita, whose broke today. It's been nice knowing you. Life ends here.

Fucking unbelievable rant: I spent 20+ hours recreating my hard drive and reinstalling everything and the fucking thing just crashed again. I want to cry. Or hit something

Feel your pain. Had to install windows on my mac (horror of horrors) for some GIS software I'm using and windows has been very very bad. For starters it decided to install over the Mac OS partition despite telling it to install elsewhere. It just went downhill from there.
Scarlett, I think they have to feed for longer than that to transfer disease. Did you keep it? You can id if it's a type that even carries lymes. And who doesn't pull ticks off? I don't know how many hundreds, possibly thousands if you count seed ticks, I've pulled off of myself. None of those came from my abundant time hiking in NY, btw. -

If it's not too late:
After removing the tick, thoroughly disinfect the bite site and wash your hands with soap and water.
Do not squeeze, crush, or puncture the body of the tick because its fluids may contain infectious organisms. Skin accidentally exposed to tick fluids can be disinfected with iodine scrub, rubbing alcohol, or water containing detergents.
Save the tick for identification in case you become ill. This may help your doctor make an accurate diagnosis. Place the tick in a sealable plastic bag and put it in your freezer. Write the date of the bite on a piece of paper with a pencil and place it in the bag. -
OQ - between needing MRIs and computer problems, I'm feeling like you are my doppleganger

Rant :
I lost the damn stylus pen for my phone. I gave my extra one away.

Thanks eggcream. Unfortunately, I yanked it off, put it in a tissue to examine it, to make sure what it was, squashed to kill it and keep looking, and then threw it away. Was just a regular little tick, not "full." Hailing from Colorado, I have had them before. Not too worried. -

I know! And we both like to garden, drunk snails and all! I've always wanted a sister

Rant: MRI machine was never actually fixed and won't be for a while. Grr...and they wait until about 2 hours before my appointment tonight to tell me something they knew long ago. Bad service.
Rant: trying to deal with NYM hospital. I tried to make an appointment with them for the MRI and it was ridiculous. Extension A says to call ext B. Ext B says nope, call ext C. Ext. C says call Ext B. And so on and so forth. Nobody would let me make an appointment. Idiot fest.
Rave: between the bf and I we managed to make the GIS software join some horribly offered data (good data, bad file formatting) for my maps! -
ugh...sorry about that OQ....both of my CT scans were smooth sailing there.
I have a sister although you wouldn't know it (long story). I've "created" sisters from good friends.
(oh, and my laptop hard drive crashed after 20+ hours of putting the new one together). -
Rave :
I found my damn stylus pen! :bounce:
Rave:
Wireless keyboard and mouse!! I can now control the computer without getting off of my sofa!! Seriously. I'm typing this post while I'm sitting on the sofa.

Rant: On the Iranian election
Obama wrote: "My understanding is, is that the Iranian government says that they are going to look into irregularities that have taken place. We weren't on the ground, we did not have observers there, we did not have international observers on hand, so I can't state definitively one way or another what happened with respect to the election."
Seriously?
