    My thoughts too!

How come people who are not from New York can come here and put down the city?

I never say I hate the country when I'm in the country or talk about how much the suburbs suck to people who live in the suburbs.

It really wasn't too bad...and I believe the pass is good for 2 days.
New York must be a bad place to be if you don't walk.

I was hoping that one thread would not get nasty.

    He is visiting his children!!!
  • Yep, he doesn't hate NYC. He's just a shy guy who's always lived and worked in small towns, save maybe grad school in a bigger town. He wanted to see us and we really don't visit him (lives in a shack in the middle of nowhere). He is easily overwhelmed by the crowds and pace, which I understand.

D123, thanks for the great offer but I don't think it's for him. Maybe I'll try to take you up on it sometime though :)

But that doesn't stop you from thinking it :)
  • Yeah too bad this thread generated some nasty answers but it has also brought forth some reasonable suggestions.
  • Don't forget you can always spend an evening watching a NY-based movie or brooklyn based. You know, a movie that is iconic of NY or is filmed here. Then get really good brooklyn pizza delivered, so he has a taste of how pizza should be, and have a movie night with dad. Bonding experience, but more laid back.
  • Mamacita you may be on to something - watch Moonstruck and then go to promenade to see where it was filmed - think Cammereri Bakery is still there as well. Do the Right Thing - trip to BedStuy. Smoke/Blue in the Face - HEY- SLOPE TIME! Saturday Night Fever - oh wait, I think that place is either a gay club or a tabernacle now.
