My thoughts too!
don't come to new york.
How come people who are not from New York can come here and put down the city?
I never say I hate the country when I'm in the country or talk about how much the suburbs suck to people who live in the suburbs. -

It really wasn't too bad...and I believe the pass is good for 2 days.
New York must be a bad place to be if you don't walk. -

I was hoping that one thread would not get nasty.

He is visiting his children!!! -
Yep, he doesn't hate NYC. He's just a shy guy who's always lived and worked in small towns, save maybe grad school in a bigger town. He wanted to see us and we really don't visit him (lives in a shack in the middle of nowhere). He is easily overwhelmed by the crowds and pace, which I understand.
D123, thanks for the great offer but I don't think it's for him. Maybe I'll try to take you up on it sometime though

The country is ok, but....Don't get me started on suburban wasteland

Yeah too bad this thread generated some nasty answers but it has also brought forth some reasonable suggestions.

Don't forget you can always spend an evening watching a NY-based movie or brooklyn based. You know, a movie that is iconic of NY or is filmed here. Then get really good brooklyn pizza delivered, so he has a taste of how pizza should be, and have a movie night with dad. Bonding experience, but more laid back.

Mamacita you may be on to something - watch Moonstruck and then go to promenade to see where it was filmed - think Cammereri Bakery is still there as well. Do the Right Thing - trip to BedStuy. Smoke/Blue in the Face - HEY- SLOPE TIME! Saturday Night Fever - oh wait, I think that place is either a gay club or a tabernacle now.
Howdy, Stranger!
