  • serious. #3 arrived pretty quickly, huh?
  • i am freaking out! no more death! no more!
  • RIP MJ... You provided the soundtrack to my life.
  • Wow, I am stunned. My sister asked me today who was gonna be #3 after hearing about Farrah. I never would have guessed MJ.
    I am really shocked.
  • Wow. Just wow. One of the most bizarre and troubled personal lives we will ever witness. And a sensational talent at his height. RIP Michael.
  • My bio father always said MJ and Prince were two of America's musical geniuses.

Kind of creepy though the the happy hour pub was playing all Michael.

Wait though, who was number 2?
  • :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

He is my favorite singer ever. The greatest entertainer in my opinion. Grew up listening to him and I still do. My iPods are filled with his music. Such a big loss. Damn.

    Rest in peace , Michael.

    1) Ed McMahon
    2) Farrah Fawcett
    3) Michael Jackson
  • I don't care.
  • Oh right. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's JOHNNY!

Your bio pappy is right. MJ, Prince and Madonna = pop trifecta perfection.
  • Michael Jackson was a musical genius but his crazy and abusive side overwhelmed his genius. The world was better because of his music but I feel that the kids he abused had their lives ruined.

Do you cry when other pedophiles die? I don't.....
  • I totally believe he was a pedophile. He had a fucked up upbringing, and was extremely talented musically, but in my mind much of my impression of him was not as a genius, but as a freak. I believe there were many more sexual abuse stories that were buried with payoffs.......

Agreed. I loved the 80's MJ. I had the vinyl. But I have no doubt he was a insane and a molester.
  • Grainy vid....from when he was just a kid. I wonder if they'll play this at the funeral.

  • I am also convinced they'll find boatloads of drugs in his body
  • It's really sad. With all his fame and wealth, he seemed to live a unhappy and lonely life. They say you can't buy happiness and Michael Jackson may be an example of that.

As for whether he was a pedophile, I'm on the fence about that. Yes, he was bizarre and hung out with young boys but, because he settled the cases, we never got to see any of the evidence. If you're the family of a young boy and the boy is hanging with a grown (rich, celebrity) adult, that situation is ripe for a money-making lawsuit/settlement.

yea, plus some of the things the kids said in those court documents were so specific that i doubt they could have been made up.
  • Dude wasn't right.

But the overzealous media wasn't- either.
  • Anyone else notice that the females of the family haven't made any public announcements? or even been spotted?
  • Tragically sad. It was the nose jobs.
  • He was the second famous white woman to die yesterday.
  • Tito, get me some tissue... Jermaine, stop teasing...
  • I can't resist speculating that LaToya and Michael are/were the same person.

Tragic end to a tragic life. He may have been given great talent - but he had demons that came along with that talent.

As for the pedophilia - correct me if I am wrong - all acts occurred within the Neverland estate. What age do kids get permits/drivers licenses in California? Did some 12 year old just breeze by the living room and yell out "Hey mom, taking the car over to my 40 year old friend's house tonight?" OR - "Mom, my 40 year old friend sent the limo to pick me up for the sleep over!" Think there might have been some parents that should have been facing some charges as well.

The doctors that pander to celebrities needs for prescription drugs also have a hand in this tragedy. An addict has no conscious or control over his need - but to knowingly supply him with the very drugs that are killing him is reprehensible.

    RIP MJ.
  • I'm looking forward to reading "I am Blanket: Growing Up With the King of Pop."

    C'mon, it has to happen!
  • i had always hoped for a redemptive ending to this story. like: MJ reemerges after some serious psychiatric care, talks about how mental illness is real and bad (maybe also about intergenerational patterns of child abuse -- the man did not go crazy on his own -- and excessive body modification and teh drugs...), makes treacle-y album about it all....

related: because i grew up on the audio tape but never the video of free to be you and me, i hadn't realized until recently that it's him on this song. makes me a bit misty, it does.

(also related: i could do without the guy on my block hollering about how this is the fault of crackers like me, all the crackers need to kiss michael's black ass -- "not his white face; his black ass" -- and so on. good news for y'all who are not crackers, though. apparently, "he's sitting with the most high gods," so, if you are black, "your troubles are over." good news for the weekend!)
  • "It's so sad and shocking," former Beatle Paul McCartney said. "I feel privileged to have hung out and worked with Michael. He was a massively talented boy man with a gentle soul. His music will be remembered forever."
  • he really said "boy man"?
  • That's straight from Reuters. No shit.

Someone yesterday (TMZ perhaps??) had photos of his mom and LaToya entering the hospital after he was rushed there and before the offical announcement of his death. No signs of Rebbie or Janet
