The wonderful Frank McCourt, author of Angela's Ashes, died yesterday. I didn't know he was born in Brooklyn - Classon Ave.

  • I read the book a decade ago so sorry if I get the facts wrong, but wasn't he born in Ireland? And he came to New York in his late teens?
  • Nevermind, he was indeed born here. Like I said, it's been a while since I read it..
