I'm going to put up Brook Vin's Old Fashioned. Superb.

Stone Park had a great bartender who made some gorgeous drinks...a very fine Negroni for instance. I haven't been lately, but I bet they still have that together.
If you want teh awesome in cocktails, roll up to Carroll Gardens: Prime Meats on Court. Genius cocktail man makes all kinds of bitters and subtle potions...veeeeery special. -
weather up on vanderbilt in prospect heights is absolutely terrific.

I'll have a genevere blue, a westchester, a perfect templeton manhattan, a french 75, a greyhound, a ... i could go on -
Not so local but I was really impressed with DuMont's cocktail list. Very interesting, accessible ingredients that combine to make some really good drinks. This spring I had a lillet based drink that knocked my socks off.

Sidecar on 5th Ave. near 16th (?) has some nice limey, minty, ginny drinks.

And gingery: Sticky fingers is my go to drink there (and it's fantastic)
they also do a nice Ramos Fizz. -
That's easy... my place. I mix a jigger of breast milk, dash of Jameson, Baileys to taste and Vodka... Shaken and drunk from the small of an aspiring hookers' back.
Delish!!! -
I'm with Mougar on this one.
Weather Up: jenever blue, gin gimlet, french 75, presbyterian, perfect manhattan, greyhound, Bronx cocktail.......
Cornelius: perfect rye manhattan
Franny's cocktails are actually delicious also. I especially like the ones they have with lovage in the Spring. -
the lemongrass saketini at nana! so full of win.

We can't nominate Smith Street locations?
I know I know....its "BoCoCa!"
But even still, Clover Club is well worth the subway ride, and well worth the $11 - $12 per cocktail. Excellent service, surprisingly yummy food (best mac and cheese EVER), and reasonable prices considering the quality, attention to detail, and atmosphere. -

Clover Club and Brooklyn Social are great cocktail spots for Smith St, but the OP was pretty explicit about the Slope or Heights limits for this list.

i'm a big fan of the sidecar gimlet

Well in that case, the Barkeep at Blue Ribbon makes my Vodka Gimlets just the way I like them - extra cold, and with real lime juice.

Better mac 'n cheese than Jack the Horse Tavern?? (They also have amazing, rotating list of cocktails.)

Really? I've always been disappointed with them as a restaurant, but I must admit that I haven't tried them as a cocktail bar. I'll have to check it out. What drinks do you recommend? -
mojito and blood orange cosmo my faves
any martini
dark n stormy -
The great thing about Long Tan (and every Viet and panAsian place) is the abundant fresh mint in the house. I used to get mojitos there when the Stone Park guy (Craig?) was the bartender. I don't think he's in the nabe anymore.
-
my fav Long Tan meal:
blood orange cosmo or mojito
bento box (papaya salad, beef salad, some other cruncy fried things)
pad se ew
banana split (shared)
car service home -

I love Cornelius for their whiskey selection and they make a great manhattan. -

Sounds worth checking out, but definitely fails on the best cocktail in the neighborhood front.
best cocktails ever, even if you have to go all the way to LIC to get them

Kirk at High Dive can make amazing cocktails. Chris at O'Connor's also makes a mean Old Fashioned, here's there during the day.
-
lol @ Long Tan as a serious contender.
