Mod,
Better start thinking analog instead of digital.
It is safer for Carnivore to stereotype then to discuss issues. Obama is leading very poorly, so Carnivore points to her stereotypes of what she thinks a republican is rather then discussing the daunting tasks, promises and needs that are before this country.
I have laid out lists of issues that Obama has not addressed or has addressed poorly, Carnivore talks about Limbaugh and republican stereotypes. That is all the proof you need that some libs are really worried and disappointed about Obama's performance.
Of course liberals are disappointed in some aspects of Obama's performance, because despite what the right wing claims, Obama is not, nor has he ever claimed to be a liberal. He ran as a pragmatic centrist, and that's how he's been governing.
I've got to tell you, pokersloper, your tone is coming off a bit like this lady:

modsquad wrote: Carnivore, A difference of opinion between Scarborough and Zbigniew Brzezinski paints forever Scarborough into a right wing loony bin?
This wasn't a difference of opinion. As Daniel Patrick Moynihan said, "You're entitled to your own opinions. You're not entitled to your own facts."
Are you saying Arafat never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity? Zbigniew Brzezinski was part of the weakest representation of American government the world has ever seen. Many of our problems today can be laid at the Wimps feet.
And I think the vast majority of Americans today would agree that our current problems can be firmly laid at Bush's feet. -
Carnivore wrote: [quote=pokersloper]And by missing my point completely Carnivore, you have proven how incapable you are of stepping back and considering your views. I brought up Wright to point out that stereotyping and looking for the "gotcha" moment doesn't get us very far. Instead, you see the name Wright written and just assume I talk politics the way you do - with stereotypes and misleading comments. You can discuss politics that way and refuse to consider fairly my views, clearly that is your style.
pokersloper wrote: The same way that Obama has been friendly with former terrorists, Rev. Wright and others on the loony left, certainly there are folks on the right who have been friendly with right wing scumbags.
The fact that Obama's pastor has said things most Americans disagree with is hardly equivalent to prominent Republicans basing actual policy decisions on what right wing talking heads tell gullible Americans about what to believe.
gullible Americans? like the women at Planned Parenthood who were told by Obama that the first law he signs is an abortion rights law?
gullible Americans? - like the gays and lesbians who were promised that don't ask don't tell would be revoked?
gullible Americans? - like those who actually believed that Obama would publish torture photographs that the military was publicly advising could cause world riots.
gullible Americans? - like the ones who were told that Obama will pass universal health care without having to pay for it.
gullible Americans? that is funny.
Both parties cater to their extreme lefts and rights. If you can't find equal fault in your team, then you aren't looking hard and more to the point, you don't care to make your team better and stronger. -
Those positions are not the extreme left.

That's a mischaracterization, and the dozens of people on this board who know me and have met me know it's a lie. I honestly don't know whether pokersloper is a man or a woman, and don't really care. You're ignoring the content of what the woman was saying, which is what I think is mirrored in PS's tone. -

do you ever get out of NYC? -
Carnivore took a day trip out of NYC and took this picture.

What is so interesting about all of this is that the low class, rude, stupid and disrespectful outburst during Obama's speech seems to be factually correct. Obama is lying about healthcare, which has nothing to do with Limbaugh, Fox News, etc.
Funny how even Obama's lying get blamed on the far right stereotype. -

Obama is responsible for addressing the problems that Bush's administration created, yes. But the root of the problems lie with Bush, not from 30 years ago, as modsquad claimed. -
MSNBC: Guys Carrying Guns to Rallies Are Racists, Especially This Guy Whose Skin Color We Will Now Proceed to Hide from Your View.
the commentator says:
. . . there are questions about whether this has a racial overtones [sic] I mean here you have a man of color in the presidency and white people showing up with guns strapped to their waists, or to their legs.
White man with gun strapped to him:

Coming from someone who'd like to blame our current economic troubles on the Carter administration, I think I can live with that. -

Your putting words in my mouth, probably among other things, but I'll just say the Middle East nightmare can be laid at Carter's feet. -
Well a good part of it anyway.

A good part of it can be laid at the feet of every U.S. President since WWII, but the Iraq war had nothing to do with the Carter administration. -

Nice edit you backpedaler, you. The Iraqi war didn't exist then. Are you presuming that I'm holding the Wimp responsible for that? -

You're deliberately obfuscating. The Iraq war and our current economic troubles have their roots in the past 8 years, not the past 30. The Middle East situation in general (primarily regarding the Israel-Palestine situation) has it's roots much deeper than that. Neither began with the Carter administration. -

You my friend deliberately edited a post to make it look like I was stupid enough to blame Carter for the Iraqi wars. -
Our current economic troubles are not all due to President Bush.:
Geithner: The Senate must move legislation to raise the federal debt limit beyond $12.1 trillion by mid-October, a move viewed as necessary despite protests about the record levels of red ink.
The move will highlight the nation’s record debt, which has been central to Republican attacks against Democratic congressional leaders and President Barack Obama. The year’s deficit is expected to hit a record $1.6 trillion.
Democrats in control of Congress, including then-Sen. Obama (Ill.), blasted President George W. Bush for failing to contain spending when he oversaw increased deficits and raised the debt ceiling.
“Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren,” Obama said in a 2006 floor speech that preceded a Senate vote to extend the debt limit. “America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership.”
Obama later joined his Democratic colleagues in voting en bloc against raising the debt increase.
