Rave: a surprised Mrs. Whynot.

RAve: Mrs Whynot's party was a total success! Had fun, enjoys the double decker chocolate cake, it put me in a food coma.

Rant: I wasn't invited to Mrs. Whynot's partay! No suprise considering whynot planned it though.

Brunch??? All you can drunk drinks?
Rant: work has been killing me and I got a bad performance eval, a mere "successful" contributor instead of outstanding. Am also a know it all, resistant, closed minded and uncooperative. I means is it my fault I fucking know everything and no one else does?
Rave: I took tomorrow off for mental health and am going to see Noche Flamenca right now!

^I have those gloves too. A lady sets up a stand in front of Citibank on 7th Ave and sells them. I bought mine a few weeks ago, but she had a good selection.

Rant: Ugh, headache! Updating and changing my resume to focus on my new career path and looking for a part time job to supplement the freelance. A pain in the booty.

Rave: 1 load of laundry done, second ready. London Broil is marinating for dinner... need to think up a side dish. Being very productive!

today's rant and rave has a different tone than my usual one...

So, today I ate lunch at a pizza place that almost exclusively serves people who work where I work. At the table beside me two guys are sitting, both of whom who work for building security...

guy 1 to guy 2: You're Haitian, right? I guess your family is alright?

guy 2: I lost four people. Two cousins, an uncle and an aunt.

guy 1: wow, I didn't know.....

guy 2: yea, I'm glad everyone else is ok, but it was a lousy weekend. I'm glad to be back at work....

Guy 1 looks at me the two of us awkwardly nod our heads in agreement at guy 2. Guy 2 changes the topic to the weekend's football results...

I decide to no longer listen into their conversation, and instead listen into the conversation occuring at the table on my left, featuring "Dumb Guy" and "Not Dumb Woman".

Dumb guy: So my bank got taken over by this other bank, and I was like "excellent, I owed the old bank money, not the new bank". So I didn't pay the credit card bill anymore.

Not Dumb Woman: Did it work?

Dumb Guy: No, they called me and told me I still owe them money, and now I owe them even more money because I didn't pay for like 8 months. I told them I thought I didn't have to pay because they got taken over but they told me I still have to pay...

Not Dumb Woman: You actually said that?

Dumb Guy: yea

(At which point the woman looked at me, rolled her eyes, with a "why am I sitting with this dumb guy?" look. And, I just smiled, finished my soda and left).

...and with that, this post comes to a close.

Rave:

Rant: People who use Word, yet do not understand the Tab key, and margin indent. (I am presently editing a 10 page document where the orginal writer used a combination of the Enter key and the space bar....)

...not everyone should be allowed to use Word.

Do all schools not teach typing? Even in my super shitty school district we had typing classes (where we also did things like learning about tab) in 2-3 grades.

Rave: I finally dropped off my knives at Cooks Companion for a long overdue good sharpening!

Rant: the girl helping me was dripping with nasty attitude. If I had a good back-up of where to get them sharpened in Brooklyn I would have just taken them back and left just to make sure I don't have to go back there.

That's what I was thinking as she spoke. And I came in all nice and happy to finally get this done so she wasn't feeding off of me.

Rave: instant apple cider mix (like hot chocolate mix).

Rave: the extremely helpful employee at Old Navy. I was getting a new pair of jeans for off-leash (see giant hole in butt of current one) and the guy who got down my size found me elsewhere in the store to offer me the same jeans, slightly different wash that were only $11.

Rave: Grocery Shopping. Literally.

Camera - Sweet! What did you get?

Malfunction - Boo.

The beauty of SLRs is that they give you tons of creative control (if you want it), but it takes a little bit of dedication to figure out how to make the capture and the final image match your vision.
