  • What we need is a study that compares the rate of violence regarding

Various micro delivery routes and zones

    TO

Various micro street corner dealing zones.

[I'm assuming the macro effect of violence in Mexico isn't changed by the local delivery method.]

Surely someone his done their thesis on this topic. It is just a matter of finding it, then dismissing the study as having no relevance to Crown Heights on the criteria all studies are dismissed on: income, class, race differences, etc.

    C'mon people, get to googling!

....you people who want delivery gotta build a case for it.
  • Why must something be studied before truth is ascertained? Inductive reasoning alone can be used to extrapolate on what we know about weed-slinging and gunslinging.

Throw in under-employable people, dysfunctional child-rearing, and the lack of conflict resolution skills and what that aggregates to is the potential for disaster and the wise choice to cross the street when the regulars consider the corner of Lincoln and Franklin -- or any other perpendicular meeting of streets -- there habitat.

The hipsters now living here might be more discreet about how they procure their smokey high -- if such is the case I don't see it. I see them coming 'round the corner when they come -- and they do it with an awkwardness that belies their attempt to hide their desire to get high. If anything their presence -- and their deeper pockets have made the demand higher, and the consequence of impinging upon that demand more violent.

What's sad is that Black and Brown people are killing themselves over the money collected for selling product. I seriously don't mind the selling, but I wish it was done with less violence. And I really think the worse thing that can ever happen is to legalize marijuana, 'cause if you can walk into Duane Reade and get a back of 'Hempy-hi' for ten bucks, why buy it from a guy who houses his product in a dirty plastic bag stuck behind a car tire, and probably sprayed with roach killer, or embalming fluid, or dusted with powdered cocaine -- or pesticide -- or urinated on -- to boost its effect? If these guys weren't selling ganja, they would sell crystal meth, or some god awful brain-killing thing; or heroin.

Or they would be robbing you.
