  • Hello,

Thank you for all your kind thoughts. Carol had a lousy night. Hope she improves today.

Insofar as dogs are concerned I think I told this story before on the blog but I will repeat it for anyone that missed it. One very cold winter evening, it was time for our "Ralph" to be walked. As usual all the kids had excuses so I walked him. We were down in a school parking lot which had woods adjacent where he liked to make his deposits. I slipped on a patch of ice, fell backwards and hit my head on the asphalt. Fortuneatly I have a hard head but I figured it best to lie still for a couple of minutes and be sure I was okay. I told "Ralph" just be patient boy, I just need a few minuts to pull myself together. With that "Ralph" lifted his leg and peeed on me. What do you think I felt like dressing him up with? We did love "Ralph" though and it was very hard when I had to sign the papers at the Vet to put him to permanent sleep. :-XX

  • Hi Rose,

Thank you very much for your kind words and concern. I will be 78 tomorrow so we are in very much the same boat age wise. I guess you have no problem remembering some of the nostolgia that I post. We did not go past 15th street too often except to go to PS 40's, the 16th Street Movie Theater, Sunset Park/Pool or just for a walk out to Greenwood Cemetary. Of course we went on the 5th Ave trolley quite often and went through the neighborhood that most of the people on this blog grew up in.

Carol is feeling much better today. Thank you all for your messages of concern. We are going to a Church Dinner at 5pm and hopefully she will be able to eat comfortably. I am sure you all know what they are serving. Turkey of course! I have a luncheon meeting with the NARFE organization (I am an officer) on Wednesday. You guessed it Turkey again. We bought fresh Turkey Breasts at our butcher shop and will have Turkey Dinner for Thanksgiving. Now we just have to hope that Carol's system will tolerate all that Turkey. By the way. NARFE stands for the National Association of Active & Retired Federal Employees. :chef:

  • Good Morning Friends.....

It's the beginning of another Holiday Season and like most of us,I always get reflective and sentimental. I always like to look back and revisit all the things that brought me joy and happiness throughout my life. Like some of you, I tend to get melancholy when I look back and see where this journey through life has taken me.

....But, as I get older, the melancholies change to happiness and appreciation of all the things that I have lived through and the wonderful experiences that life has brought me.

...So starting today, from now until Thursday, I would like to share with you, some of the things that I am truly Thankful for.

....P.S. - There is no significance to the order of the postings...No one subject is more important then any other.

...Today I am THANKFUL for the gift of Music, and the fact that I have been fortunate to enjoy this ability throughout my whole life..
