Satellite on EP?
Comments
-
Verizon installed a temporary cell site for the parade.
-
I think brownie is wondering about the satellite dish truck that is next to the Verizon temporary cell site truck.
-
How do you think the calls go to/from the temporary tower?
-
hmmm.
How do they go to and from regular cell phone towers? I have not noticed satellite dishes near permanent towers.

Readers: the satellite dish is on top of the crane, but I wanted a shot that also showed the museum roof.
-
This might be a temporary relay to another celltower, or just a satellite hookup. Eventually, every cell call needs to travel on a non-cell network, and I think regular towers have a permanent land-line connection.
-
Permanent towers use hardlines back to "Ma Bell" or they relay it via microwave where there is no access to a suitable hardline.
-
that makes sense.
