  • I saw "Shutter Island" last night and liked it, even though I guessed what was going on long before they said it. It wasn't fabulous, but enjoyable. I love Mark Ruffalo
  • Zombieland - good fun, certainly worth a watch. The main body of the movie isn't gratuitously gory, but blood and guts are unavoidable in zombie movies. That being said, the opening credits sequence was enough to make me feel a little queasy.
  • Streaming Netflix is killing me.

I've watched every available episode of Lost and 30 Rock.
  • I liked The Crazies but that's probably not your type of movie. Zombieland was good too, more funny than anything.
  • Not sure if these two were mentioned but Whip It was a good
But I really loved the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.
  • They have hours and hours of News Radio, an under-rated series streaming on Netflix. See Phil Hartman in his prime!

Yeah, that was a great series - I've watched it front to back.

...but thank god that Andy Dick's 15 minutes are over. He was great on the show, annoying anywhere else.

    3. Timer

    4. The Maid (Subtitles)
  • I'll match Carl's choice.

Swamp Skark staring the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer!

  • And back. It's probably looking like all I've been doing is sitting around watching movies every night. . . .well, it's true. 8-[

    1. New Day in Old Sana'a ( I haven't returned it yet. I hope they have more in stock to send people, cuz I tried buying this movie but couldn't find it online.)

    2. Chop Shop

    3. Humble Pie

    4. Entre Nos

    5. Killer at Large: Why Obesity is America's Greatest Threat

    6. The Axis of Evil Comedy Tour ( Freakin' hilarious! I've watched it before, but then saw it is now on netflix instant play, so I couldn't resist.)
  • Sunshine Cleaning. Amy Adams and Alan Arkin.
  • Hilariously scathing review of "Eat, Pray, Love" from Something Awful:

    http://www.somethingawful.com/d/current-movie-reviews/eat-pray-love.php?page=3

Looks like one to be avoided.
  • 1. Breakfast with Scot

  • Nine! Awesome. I thought I was the only one who thinks of my life as a musical. Awesome.
  • Watched Twilight Samurai - great movie. Not an action flick, really (there are only two fight scenes - one is fairly brief, the other is... hard to describe, but fantastic), but more the story of a family man who has an occupation as a low-ranking samurai. There are obvious comparisons to The Last Samurai (Tom Cruise flick) - if you liked Last Samurai, you'll love Twilight Samurai. If you hated The Last Samurai, you'll probably love Twilight for all of the reasons that you hated The Last Samurai.

If you have Netflix, watch it soon - the streaming option is only available through Oct 1st.
  • Watched " Mirrors" in honor if the holiday. Turned off all the lights in my apartment and watched it alone. That's what ya gotta do with scary movies. Anyway, it worked, I terrified myself. Next will be "Mirrors 2", I heard it was creepier. :shaking:
  • A prophet. Awesome.
  • I enjoyed:

    1. "The Crazies"

    2. "Johns"

    3. "Surrogates"

    4. "When do we eat?"

    5. "Arranged"

    6. "Nine Dead"

They are all available to watch instantly on Netflix.

  • You are a movie watching machine, Em!

I actually kind of liked Penelope but I had read the description and had set my expectations accordingly.

Liked Whip It. It made me want to skate.

I loved Whip It for the same reason :)

I also liked the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo as well as the Girl Who Played with Fire.

  • Hey! The powers at Nexflix pulled their heads out of their asses and put Twilight Samurai back on to the Watch Instantly catalog - watch it before they change their minds again.

  • "Don't Let Me Drown"

    (also loved Whip It)

  • I thought that 28 Days Later was a surprisingly good movie, though I'm having a hard time saying why without it sounding like faint praise... just watch it, if you haven't and if you're not completely opposed to zombie/horror films.

  • Scott Pilgrim vs the World. Fun. Doesn't require a lot of thought. Fun.

  • Knowing this crowd, I'm kind of surprised nobody mentioned District 9 yet.

  • Long time ago, bro (I think...)- great flick.
