Yeah. We are all guests here, so follow the rules of the site and show respect for your neighbors. -

...He is not a troll, he is someone whose opinion differs from yours.
Elsewhere you accused others on this board of immaturity and insensitivity. It strikes me that accusing someone of being a "troll" is itself a little insensitive... -
He is suggesting Norplant and you defend him? Perhaps sterilize the whole non white population? Your opinion differs from mine, and I am not calling you a troll. You should be more concerned about statements that are telling people to shut the ... up, but you have picked your side so you will stick with it.

Oiseau wrote: [quote=Candicissima]So, do you suggest Norplant for everyone, including your gf/wife/daughters (or mom if there was time travel possible) or just those you feel predisposed to be ghetto white people haters?
I think society could set rules for who and why someone would be Norplanted.
It'd be a good thing for prostitutes.
RU486 shoudl be readily available and handed out like condoms at Planned Parenthoodd and NYC free medical clinics.
It's a lot cheaper than running jails.
I think society would be a bad judge, what do you think Queencallipygos? -

No, you are right, let's let the inmates run the jail. -
Queencallipygos, how are the comments of Oiseau sitting with you?

are prison rapes a thing of the past? That used to be a pretty good deterrent!
i mentor a kid who told me, 'jail isn't so bad, i hear. my friends say that you get 3 nice meals and you just lift weights and shoot hoops with your friends.'
folks, that is a PROBLEM if kids are thinking like that.
Prison rape is a fallacy.
Oh really?
fal·la·cy [fal-uh-see] Pronunciation Key -
–noun, plural -cies.
1. a deceptive, misleading, or false notion, belief, etc.: That the world is flat was at one time a popular fallacy.
2. a misleading or unsound argument.

4. Logic. any of various types of erroneous reasoning that render arguments logically unsound.
5. Obsolete. deception.

Also, read "New Jack" for a first hand account of how prison rape - while it happens just as in normal society - is nowhere near as common as Oz watchers such as yourself believe. -
Guru and everyone else...
This started as a pretty good discussion, with people arguing their points. Let's keep it that way. Cut out the name calling and get back to the discussion at hand.
Oh, and READ THE RULES -

wait. someone? you mean women. you think society should control women's bodies. are you fucking kidding me?
Let's Watch A Girl Get Beaten To Death <-- are you the one holding the camera phone?
Are you suggesting that the children that prostitutes give birth to are the same children that are a menace to society, because if that is it , I disagree. I know a couple of prostitutes whose children are well behaved. Your occupation doesn't determine the type of parent you'll be. -

Sorry, when you said "started" were you speaking of the first comment "ghetto kids"? Is that how you want it kept?

Oh, and READ THE RULES -
And one more thing. 'Cause this is pissing me off. We were talking about children doing criminal things and parenting, not a population crisis! So cut the crap with Norplant and RU486. No one knows that their children will turn out to be bad before they're born. And you're suggesting that it's only the minorities. Cut the crap.
-
I'm not suggesting minorities at all. But that you for putting words in my mouth. It is amazing what all you PC people assume.
Sure, we don't know how people will turn out, but I'd say there are instances where a child has a better chance of turning out good then bad.
One thing about living in NYC, it seems that wehenever someone brings up poor everyone assumes minorites only but that just ain't the way it is across America.
Furthermore, I remember when I was young population growth was a real issue, the fact that the world can not sustain the expedential growth that is occuring. Now you never hear about it. I guess that's because it is what is fueling the economy. -
Guru wrote: Sorry, when you said "started" were you speaking of the first comment "ghetto kids"? Is that how you want it kept?
Everyone gave that comment the weight it deserved and ignored it.
As far as what I want, I'd like you to discuss the topic and not call one another names. Argue your point, agree, disagree, whatever, just be respectful to each other. Feel free to tell the other guy his ideas are stupid. Refrain from calling him stupid.
And don't assume that because you have not seen someone publicly called out for assy-ness he/she hasn't been.
Normally the mods would have this conversation with individuals via PM, but since there are guests posting here I thought it was worthwhile to place a comment in the thread so everyone could see it. -
This thing started in the "ghetto" and you say you want it kept there?

Sounds like all people want to do is complain about rowdy/rebellious kids and try to find out whose fault it is, yet no one wants to actually help these kids. Whether you may like it or not, they're just as much a part of our community as any hipster or yuppie is.
So, before you complain about "kids these days", remind yourself that what makes this neighborhood so great is its diversity, including teenagers. Many teens in this up and coming generation are lost and confused and looking for a role model or a mentor in their lives. Be one instead of being the irritated eye roller as the G train fills to the brim with those loud obnoxious teenagers. It might not decrease the rowdiness, but it would definetly help decrease the crime. -

I believe most of the earlier complaints were not because of rowdy kids, as much as deliveryman ribbing/backpack hitting/assault and battery kids, and how they're screwing up the neighborhood.
People's willingness to help tends to fly out the window when a gang of 13 year olds punch you in the back of the head.
Also most poor, disadvantaged kids out there, make it to adulthood without, you know, punching people in the back of the head for laughs. So the few knuckleheads who don't get that, screw'em, they deserve whatever bad sh*t happens to them.
I just hope they don't kill or seriously f*ck up some inncocent schmo before they get their just desserts. -

Yes, rape is not a laughing matter.
2 - Rape in prison is no more prevelant than rape in the general population.

Period.

What's so difficult about the idea that kids will rob you? I grew up in New York City, I've been robbed as a kid by other kids. It happens. Bad parenting, hormone issues, whatever. You're making it sound like these kids are out in the street robbing banks and car jacking people. They sound more like bullies to me. Every neighborhood has them it's just that here they're kids and they don't know any better. That's why they do it. Then, once someone gets shot or put in jail or just gets the crap kicked out of them, they stop. This is pretty basic stuff people.
Sure it stinks, but I bet if you knocked the biggest kid on his ass, the rest are going to run. So, please, stop blaming it on the mothers, social ills, etc. If you see some rowdy kids either call the cops or tell them to fuck off. Although you better be ready to fight if you choose the latter. -

1. Got it. Finally. What a lame punchline. Why would you expect anyone to get that? Or that it was actually worth trying to get? Lastly, how does it help your point? Just a rhetorical question in case you're tempted.
2 - That has got to be wrong, on so many levels. How many men do you know, who have never been to jail, that have been raped??? Compare that to the men in jail who ARE raped. See my point? If you are a man aiming to avoid getting raped, I would advise you to take your chances on the outside rather than in jail, hence my tongue-in-cheek original referrence to prison rape being a deterrent. Did any of that make sense to you?
Oh, and "Period" means "Full stop". Got it?
Didnt mean to make you swear in frustration. -

Agreed. I cannot begin to list the stupid, mean, and just plain disruptive things I did as a kid. I can only imagine how many adults probably predicted an early grave, jail, or homelessness for me. Most kids outgrow that stuff at some point. Not all though. The ones most at risk are probably the ones who have no respect for any adults in their lives, and no peers to follow to a different path. I would think the majority will manage to avoid major trouble in time.
