The word on the street is that the Brooklyn Burger Bar will be opened tonight.. health violations clear!. To be clear.. the word on the street came to me because my husband is a Jazz pianist who plays there thurs and sat nites and books the music. Thurs and Sat are Jazz nites.

The owner has hired NEW MANAGEMENT.

All I want to say is I have heard some fine Jazz in this place and hopefully the service will improve...

Don't throw poison arrows my way! Our income is not dependent on this gig.

But.. I love Jazz and any bar or restaurant in the Slope that gives the music a chance to speak for itself gets on my list. Now whether it Stays on the list ..mmm that depends on what the total experience turns out to be.. .

  • Hmmmm....I walked past at 2:30 this afternoon and the "closed by board of health" signs were still all on the windows and there was no sign of activity inside
  • Well tonight they expect to open.. if not by dinner time.. certainly tomorrow.

    Yeah but I bet the BOH notices were down.
  • the big yellow one from the BOH was still on the door. the small ones that they had posted were still on the other windows.
  • They have a lot of issues to fix. The note on the door saying that had "hot water issues" was slightly under representing the fact.

    7.)Pesticide use not in accordance with label or applicable laws. Prohibited chemical used/stored. Open bait station used.
    8.)Garbage receptacles not provided or inadequate. Garbage storage area not properly constructed or maintained; grinder or compactor dirty.
    9.)Facility not vermin proof. Harborage or conditions conducive to vermin exist.
    10.)Sanitized equipment or utensil, including in-use food dispensing utensil, improperly used or stored.
    11.)Food contact surface not properly washed, rinsed and sanitized after each use and following any activity when contamination may have occurred.
    12.)Food not protected from potential source of contamination during storage, preparation, transportation, display or service.
    13.)Evidence of flying insects or live flying insects present in facility's food and/or non-food areas.
    14.)Evidence of roaches or live roaches present in facility's food and/or non-food areas.
    15.)Evidence of mice or live mice present in facility's food and/or non-food areas.
    16.)Food item spoiled, adulterated, contaminated or cross-contaminated.
  • Yikes.....I will make my own burger from now on. Dont need the extra flavorings if you get my drift.
