Egging — Brooklynian

Egging

Just an unscientific study of how bad we are! This action could have occurred at any time in your life.

  • i hate egging and being egged. once i saw this kid throwing crap at me. caught him and taught him a lesson.
  • It does suck. I was 14 or so when I did it. I actually egged a house and the owner was in his fucking bushes waiting for an attack. He chased me for 5 or 6 blocks. It really felt like I was running for my life.

I have also been egged and hope it doesn't happen again to me tonight. :?
  • i love the morons wearing a mask. easy to pull it over their heads and give them a swift beating.

they should have cops walking the beat looking for kids with eggs.

been egged too many times. just minding my own business and bam some egged on my clothes.

such a waste of resources. people are dying of hunger around the world.
  • I've had the shaving cream version happen to me. Sucked, but I was a kid, so no big deal. If it happened now, with my accumulated years of wisdom and bitterness :P I'd probably beat the crap out of the punks.
  • shaving cream isnt that bad. eggs smells bad. and some jackasses let their eggs rot for a while waiting for this season.
  • I did once. Pretty stupid.

Shaving cream is nothing. Kids in my neighborhood used to bring Nair to shaving cream fights.

I was just about to say that! When I went to LaGuardia HS kids used to fill balloons with Nair and wait on the stairs of Lincoln Center. It didn't help that Martin Luther King HS was across the street from us and there was a bit of a rivalry going on. Needless to say I only went to school on Halloween once when I was there.
  • Shaving cream isn't that harmless. That stuff will take the paint right off your car. I've never been personally egged or creamed (or egg creamed! hee! :P ) but my property has. Some punks put shaving cream on my mom's car and it took the paint off.

Also, one time, somebody managed to get this huge grease stain on my house above the front door right about second floor level. I don't know how they did this. It did end up being kind of convenient since the entire block was white houses with red shutters, so I could tell people looking for my house, "Oh, my house is the one with the big grease stain on the front." That and the overgrown front lawn were part of the redneck image my parents were clearly cultivating and is probably the main reason why my house was the only one that didn't get burglarized even though I'm willing to bet that we probably had more valuable stuff (musical instruments, rare manuscripts) than our neighbors.

One time, a friend of mine did catch me from behind and sprayed an entire can of hairspray on my head. Boy, did I look a fright! I ran into him twenty years later and he got down on his knees and apologized. I couldn't figure out what for because while I was plenty pissed at the time, looking back in hindsight, it's pretty damn funny.

Ha! That old gag. I don't know if it was popular around here, but where I grew up a squirt gun filled with Lectric Shave or whatever other dirt cheap perfume/cologne you could find was standard equipment. A few quick blasts to someone's chest ensured they would experience the misery of huffing British Sterling for the rest of the evening.
  • That would seem to be a good way to put people in the hospital if they were asthmatic and had allergies.

I wasn't really known for my sound judgement when I was 10, although I did resist using bleach...

EDIT: If you're an idiot and you're reading this and I'm giving you ideas, PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS STUFF.

Yes. And whatever you do, definitely don't fill a water gun with bleach and shoot people with it.
