If get the Mickey's I will bring the Heffenreffer!
  • The beer distributor on Washington between Bergen and Dean is wonderful. Much cheaper than Met and a great selection.

Corey's right though - as more hipster/yuppie people moved to the
neighborhood the more beer the Met, etc carry.

Correctly, it would be the more hipsters that move into the neighborhood, the more good beer the Met, etc carry.
  • Oh, puleeze. You knew it was over when that wine bar opened!

Lister: Hmm. Look, this is between you and me, okay, Kryten? Once, many years ago... I went into a wine bar.
Kryten: That's it? You went into a wine bar?!
Lister: Okay! Keep it down, keep it down! I don't want the whole world to know!
Kryten: Well, what's so bad about going into a... W.B.?
Lister: It means I was a class traitor. I could have been on that slippery slope, hankering after pine kitchens, sleeping on futons, eating tappas! Who knows where it could have led? I could have started having "relationships" with people instead of going out with them. Got married, got on the property ladder. God Almighty, who knows where it could have ended? Next thing you know, I'm playing squash every Tuesday night with a bloke called Gerald! A lucky escape, man, a lucky escape.
  • EmilyM,

thanks for the heads up! i'll have to take a little look-see this weekend! where, by the way, is the galed bodega?
  • nybt wrote: where, by the way, is the galed bodega?
st. johns and washington. but beware. last time i bought mickeys there, it had, um, "settled". that is, it looked thick and viscous at the bottom and clear and watery at the top. hmm!
  • I don't go to C-town often... but might start if the selection of beer is as good as it looks in the photos...

Is the beer still right next to the salted fish section?... one of the reasons I stopped going there is that horrible smell...

hahahaha we covered that already. the fish is still there, but far enough away that its not so overpowering.

good. that store could be 10,000 times better. they do that really irritating thing that big stores should never do -- at 8:45 p.m. they pull their gates, even though they don't close til 9. jerks.

I think so--one day it was all of a sudden substantially cleaner, better-smelling, and reorganized. Not that that's saying a whole lot.
  • Subject: Yelison

If you go to Yelison (nice pic) remember to ask for the secret cigar stash.
