wow....this could be the reason I also worked where I worked!


In the park up from my house ....on 17st 5-6th ave .....we used to play in there ......ball, ride our bikes ....and on one of the benches an Old Man would sit reading his newspaper named Jerry.
We were forbidden from talking to him .....people in the neighborhood used to say he was a pedophile....but I used to sit on the other end of the bench and strike a conversation with him and ask if he was a bad man ...cause I heard bad stories about him !!!! He never did answer me ....but he never tried anything either! Maybe this is why I dont let my kids out of my site!

Rosa is renting out the beauty parlor and is still living upstairs from it and her daughter Rosita in in the apartment below her.

I spoke to Rosita last week and Rosa, last year.

Cambarlango's was across the street, and a bar on the other corner.

Geri lived a few doors away from the gas company and we hung out there a lot. There were 2 butchers across the street also, Danny the butcher & I think the other was Franks.

We always went to Danny's. I can still see him and even hear his voice !!! That was Patsy's grandfather on her mother's side of the family.

Rocco from the candy store used to eat raw ground pork from there and years later, he had worms throughout his body. At least that's the story we heard.

Right ...There was a Butcher next door to Camberlango's also!

wow...I used to hear that same story...but I heard it in St Johns....funny how everytime I make meatballs now and taste the meat ....to see if I added enough seasoning ...I think of Rocco ~ Rest in Peace

I think he made me over cook my meats but my sister always said that was an Irish thing to over kill the food, lol.

9 more days and I leave for Florida!!! I think I may have to take my kitten with me since she isn't learning how to drink from a dish and I would have to leave the door open for the dog and the other cats and he's never been out. Too little right now. He is only 7 weeks old.

I don't trust him to be able to take care of it, lol. He is not really an animal person and he may forget to feed it.

I can sneak it into the hotel and then we will be at Geri's for a few days. Will get the disposable kitty litter box.

It is supposed to be close to be close to 70 today and I may go out in about an hour and take a ride to another town, just to get out. Trying to see if one of my friends want to go with me. No one has given me an answer yet !!!

My Aunt Audree worked in Meyers for many years and then went to work at Stavenhagen's until she moved to Connecticut.
