Ha, I'm not a yuppie. I don't even live in Park Slope, Lower Slope, or South Slope.
I just think you're angry. -

A yuppie opened the door of his BMW, when suddenly a car came along and hit the door, ripping it off completely. When the police arrived at the scene, the yuppie was complaining bitterly about the damage to his precious BMW.
"Officer, look what they've done to my Beeeemer!!!" he whined.
"You yuppies are so materialistic, you make me sick!!!" retorted the officer, "You're so worried about your stupid BMW, that you didn't even notice that your left arm was ripped off!!!"
Oh my gaaad...", replied the yuppie, finally noticing the bloody left shoulder where his arm once was,
"Where's my Rolex!!!!!" -

"hiphop thug types" "lazy" maybe you want those certain types of people the stay in the back of the bus too suh.. get the fuck off your high horse because your just as stupid and ignorent for making that statement then. every body can point fingers and claim im making generalisations when people like this say this shit its.. ok. you are the worst offenders. and thats my main point. you all act innocent when you are the ones that believe the evil hiphop thugs and their obnoxious music should stay in there projects where they belong. because parkslope is for the educated people of better ilk. to all those who say i have internet rage. fuck you. i say this shit to your face whenever you fucks get anywhear near me. and i do voice my concerns to your little associations but they fall on def ears because im outnumbered by you idiots!
Cheers to you my man! One example of how tolerant they are of their neighbors is when they open bars and have no signs outside and hide behind venetian blinds. They are so hypocritical. Why not let more of your neighbors in? Afraid they'll be hip hop thug types? I guess that's the price you pay for a little cheaper rent. All ya'll stop trying to hide behind your political bull shit!!! The truth of the matter is you still act like you are better than anyone else.!!!!! -

. The one thing I love the most is seeing Yuppies in Coney Island. I love how they just lounge around eating hot dogs while they give hispanics and other minorities around them dirty looks as if they are the ones who don't belong there. ARE YOU SERIOUS? Nathans has existed since 1916, and sadly enough, you NIMBY jerks are not the ones who discovered it, though I'm sure you'd all like to think so.
Hey don't forget how all those jackasses all meet after work to go to a Cyclones game out in Keyspan Park. They average about 10 super-obnoxious yuppies all getting there a different intervals. They spend their time greeting each other and catching up on bullshit they could talk about at the office. This one group in particular didn't even watch the game!!! They drank beer after beer, grew more obnoxious by the minute and left in the sixth inning! Wow, what true Brooklynites!!! They just wanted to be there because it was COOOOLLL. Give me a break!!! -
Hey Genius - Park Slope South is past 9th St (i.e. South of Park Slope. Below 6th avenue is sometimes referred to as the lower slope (i.e. is down the hill from the rest of PS). Clearly you've been living here awhile [sarcasm]
Hey Asshole you get the idea so stop being smug! -
I took this picture of PKSlope OG standing in front of Connecticut Muffin. I'm not sure if he ever got his Cafe Latte.

Actually, it was pretty funny. All the intentional humor in this thread has been from the hipsters and yuppies. But I have to admit, the funniest posts are the rants like PKslopeOG's. -

ihateyuppies wrote: You are all for social programs and helping the poor yet you are the biggest NIMBY's around (eg. battered women's shelter in Carroll Gardens).
This thread is pointless, but at least get your fucking facts right. The people who opposed the shelter in CG were the old-line Italian homeowners, who expressed their opposition in the most loathsome possible way--by publicizing the address. The people who spent many dozens of hours of their own free time fighting FOR the shelter were the yuppie renters, e.g. myself. And we won--partly through our skilfull use of "yuppie" tools such as rush-hour subway stop flyer handouts, message boards, and attending every community meeting we could. (Well, I didn't think that these were particularly "yuppie" ideas, but the opponents thought that we were "sneaking around" to thwart them.)
So before you go saying that yuppies are NIMBYs, you might want to look into the fact that in the one example you give, you have the story exactly backwards.
Also, IP check in aisle 2. There are fewer people posting in this thread than you'd think. Anybody still enjoying the anonymous posting feature? -

Funny, without the IP info, I had still kind of assumed that all these "guests" were only 1 or 2 people. -

First of all my mother and best friend are Jewish dick wad. Second of all I am very graphic when I describe things saying my land lord doesn’t describe a guy with locks, a beard and a hooked nose dressed in black with a hat. If I described him as a very waspy man in a cardigan sweater, would you have offered up the same rebuke? Stop Looking for Anti Semitism at every corner “you fucking Jew.†(quoting cartment from south park)
Oh yea, I almost forgot. Isreal did steal that land from Palestine, I dont sdupport isreal in any way shape or form. I think thier all fucked up building a wall, etc. . I guess you want to scream anti Semitism at that comment too, right? -

The regularly scheduled meetings of Yuppie Humorists and Ranters Anonymous have been combined for this week only. Both groups will meet on Wednesday at kensingtonmom's house for spaghetti alle vongole.

Hey, how did I get dragged into this mess? Can I help it if I make a great vongole! Well if the yuppie humorists want to pay for enough clams to shut up the two ranters I am game. -

I'd be interested in what kind of effort it would take, then, to prove to you that one isn't a NIMBY. And I mean that in a purely sarcastic and rhetorical way.
I don't mean to feed the troll, but I didn't want anyone else reading this to get the wrong impression about the shelter. Having straightened that out in the minds of everyone other than our blockheaded troll, I will now be more than happy to return to the PH board. -

I honestly don't think the troll understands what a nimby is.

One, two or twenty, I still feel the way I do. Aren't you the ones who yell about "Freedom of Speech" the loudest? -

I don't know- I think a high school kid would have figured out how to consistently use the quote function correctly by now. -

No, it's usually anonymous trolls who yell about freedom of speech the loudest.
